The Details

The Gallery is a beautifully converted barn that sits down the end of a peaceful private lane in Carbis Bay, Cornwall. Sleeping up to six guests, this sleek, contemporary retreat is flooded with natural light and offers groups of friends or family a remarkable stay by the sea.

When you step inside, you’ll be blown away by the modern minimalist design, with huge floor-to-ceiling windows and a giant, double-height ceiling creating a perfect space to socialise with your loved ones. The home even has Orluna lighting which mimics the sunset on those overcast days.

The open-plan kitchen/dining space is the heart of the home, with a striking, modern kitchen that features a big island where you can perch with a drink in hand as your loved one whips up a feast. The kitchen is kitted out with state-of-the-art Gaggenau appliances and beautiful Caesarstone worktops making meal prep a breeze. Once dinner’s ready, dine together on the stylish wooden dining table, which offers the perfect place to enjoy a meal with a view beneath some lovely feature lighting.

Just off this room is the fab lounge or ‘snug’, where a corner sofa sits next to yet more giant windows, providing you with the ideal spot to unwind with an evening drink. There’s a wood-burner and underfloor heating here to ensure you stay toasty and warm and there’s even a projector and a sound system for epic movie nights.

When night falls, there are three dreamy bedrooms to choose from, each with its own personality. Upstairs, the principal suite is a showstopper with a super-king bed, sweeping sea views and a spa-style ensuite with a freestanding bath and rainfall shower. Downstairs, the Bali-inspired king room channels island calm, complete with its own entrance and a sleek wet room. Next door, the Moroccan bedroom is full of warm tones and natural textures, with sliding doors that open straight onto the garden – the perfect morning escape. There’s also a separate family bathroom that adds even more indulgence, and there's a tucked-away studio space if you fancy getting creative or catching up on emails.

When the weather’s warm, step into the garden that’s ideal for slow mornings and relaxing evenings. Make use of the outdoor dining setup for alfresco meals and grill up some delicious local produce on the BBQ. There’s also a firepit out here and plenty of space for lounging in the sun or stargazing at night. The grassy area is perfect for free-roaming kids and four-legged friends.

When it comes to filling your days, you have direct access to walking paths including the St Michael’s Way. You’ll also love Carbis Bay, that is tucked into a sheltered curve of the coast. Its calm, crystal-clear shallows are ideal for paddleboarding, kayaking or just floating the hours away. Feeling active? Stroll the scenic coastal path into St Ives, where you’ll find world-class art, indie boutiques and a buzzing food scene.
