In a dramatic setting amidst the sand dunes of Gwithian Beach and overlooking St Ives and Godrevy Lighthouse, Dune House makes for a luxurious seaside escape. Sleeping up to eight in four bedrooms, all with stunning views thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows and glass-fronted balconies, this house is a purpose-built holiday home, designed for a beach lifestyle. There are spacious, open-plan living spaces and a large enclosed garden, making Dune House perfect for group trips or family gatherings.
Step inside and you’ll find yourself in the impressive open-plan space that incorporates the kitchen, dining and living areas. The interior is flooded with natural light due to the huge windows overlooking the sea. The modern kitchen is fully equipped for all your culinary needs, whether you’re having a quick snack at the breakfast bar or preparing an extravagant dinner for 12. There’s room for four extra guests around the large dining table (12 in total), which has been positioned in front of floor-to-ceiling windows so everyone can enjoy the view. Big, comfy sofas, a wood burner and underfloor heating ensure you’re cosy when it’s time to start winding down in the evenings. You’ll also find a games room and an après-surf room with two showers and facilities for drying wetsuits downstairs.
The four luxurious bedrooms are located upstairs, making the most of the stunning views. There are two master bedrooms which are near-identical king-size ensuites and share a glazed west-facing balcony overlooking the sea. Enormous windows fill the room with light during the day, creating a relaxed environment and you can sit out on the balcony in the evenings and watch the sunset over the sea. There are also two bright and airy twin rooms which have views out to the lighthouse or over the Cornish countryside.
There’s a large garden which is also west-facing and is well-equipped for sunny summer days. There’s a BBQ for cooking up some delicious alfresco feasts on warmer days and there’s also a shed for storing all of your beach gear. It’s a short stroll to the sea from Dune House, just five minutes over the sand dunes to Gwithian beach. There are three miles of sandy beach within easy reach, including the picturesque Godrevy and Gwithian beach. Wander down to St Ives Bay and enjoy the sunshine all day long in the summer. There are plenty of local surf schools in the area waiting to help you catch your first wave. If you fancy a change of scene, St Ives is a short drive away, with cobbled streets full of independent shops, artists’ studios and, of course, The Tate St Ives.
