Surrounded by 400 acres of farmland, this country-style home is ideal for a wholesome holiday with your nearest and dearest. With three living rooms, two kitchens and a grand dining area for slap-up feasts, there is more than enough space for a group of 12. Active types will be pleased to know there is an on-site tennis court and many woodland walks on the doorstep. If you’d prefer to stay put, enjoy a picnic in the manicured gardens.
Downstairs begins with the living spaces, suitable for both entertaining and relaxing. Curl up in front of the wood-burning stove in the sitting room, or switch on the smart TV and watch your favourite series. There’s also a games drawer for keeping the group occupied on rainy days. Next, you’ll find the grand dining room, perfect for lively breakfasts and laid-back dinners. Kitchens complete the ground floor – one is equipped with an Aga and the other is located in a separate annexe with all the pots, pans, utensils and crockery required for creating something delicious.
Head upstairs for six individually styled bedrooms with king size beds dressed in luxury linens for a sound night’s sleep and ample clothes storage – great news for overpackers or those planning a longer stay. Three bathrooms, including an ensuite, feature showers (two cubicles and one over a bath). Fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries are provided, so you won’t need to worry about bringing your own.
Outside, treat yourself to a spot of elevenses in the landscaped gardens or play a game of doubles on the tennis court. Or why not tick off the eight woodland walks that meander through the grounds? If you'd like to head out for the afternoon, Shefford is the closest town, reached in just four minutes by car, boasting shops, restaurants and pubs. The Brewery Tap is a local favourite, serving real ale and light bites. For those curious to explore further afield, historic Cambridge makes for an excellent day trip destination – it's less than an hour's drive away.
