A pair of eight-person barn conversions in Rutland, available as individual properties or jointly for larger parties
In the heart of the stunning and unspoiled county of Rutland, The Big Drift Barn and Fairchilds Barn are two beautiful former agricultural buildings, now lovingly converted into self-catering holiday properties, each capable of accommodating up to eight guests within their spacious, artfully decorated interiors. Light filled, airy and boasting extensive indoors and outside space, Big Drift Barn and Fairchilds Barn are ideal for large friend groups, bigger family reunions, and other get-togethers.
The barns can each be booked as individual holiday houses, or parties can rent the pair of them together, with their combined capacity of sixteen guests. Although they still benefit from their original architectural forms, remaining true to their origins as working farm buildings, both of the properties have been comprehensively renovated internally, creating luxurious spaces which offer everything you need for a holiday away.
Inside, each of the barns is arranged around a central kitchen-cum-living room, kept cosy with a sleek modern wood-burning stove, and offering excellent amenities for enthusiastic home cooks. In these spaces you'll also find the dining areas, with their extensive views, and soft furniture, ideal for winding down together at the end of the day with a jigsaw puzzle and a bottle of wine.
For warmer seasons both barns also offer large timber decks, which can be accessed directly from the main space, creating the perfect spot to enjoy the Rutland sun long into the evening. Both of these outdoor areas are also kitted out with complete outdoor dining furniture sets, so you can enjoy your meals al fresco. Upstairs, each of the properties can accommodate eight guest comfortably, between three double bedrooms, and a final fourth room with twin singles. Everything about Big Drift Barn and Fairchilds Barn is sleek, contemporary, and well designed, creating two ultra-luxurious living spaces which are a joy to dwell in.
Rutland has long been celebrated as a well-kept secret in rural England. With its rolling hills, acres of woodlands and laidback, welcoming communities, it is a must-visit for families and friends who enjoy hiking, picnics, bicycling and any activity which takes place in the great outdoors. As the barns are situated on a working farm, guests have the opportunity to learn about farming, the region, and important issues relating to food production from the farmers themselves, who are heavily involves in schools partnerships and education about farming issues.
Although you're in an untouched patch of land, guests will be pleased to know that there are multiple restaurants within easy reach in the surrounding three miles. The Royal Tandoori is an excellent Indian restaurant in nearby Corby. Closer to home, there are multiple great pubs with cheery atmospheres, local ales and wonderful food.
