The Doocot was once a three storey dovecot which has recently been renovated into a beautiful, contemporary upside down two storey getaway for romantic couples who will enjoy its quirky interior and fabulous views.
The open plan living area on the first floor is light and welcoming with modern furnishings resting up against the magnificent original stone nesting boxes along the walls. They are not only striking and unique but have been repurposed to house books, ornaments and kitchenware adding a layer of charm to this already extraordinary property.
The lounge area has comfy seating and a small dining table perfect for two to enjoy romantic suppers before settling in for a movie on the 32” Smart TV. The décor is simple and cosy with many of the timber surfaces created from a single, local fallen and dried elm tree.
The kitchen area is sleek and comes fully equipped with everything you could need to prepare delicious meals for two including a dishwasher. Look out of the windows and enjoy the far reaching views of the sea!
When it's time to sleep you can head downstairs to the stunning master bedroom with its beautiful high vaulted ceiling that has been artistically covered with shimmering stars and constellations to lull you into a peaceful night's sleep. The comfy king size bed is two metres long and can be converted into a twin if required. The bedroom also boasts a large French window which lets in the morning light and opens out into a shared courtyard.
In the morning make your way through to the ensuite which is modern with black marble and a big hot shower where you can freshen up for a day of exploring.
Right on your doorstep (or just over the road) is the Gillingshill Reservoir and Nature Reserve, a tranquil setting for a morning walk. The picturesque fishing villages of Pittenweem and Anstruther are a short 10-minute drive away where you can watch the boats come in and buy the freshest possible fish for supper!
The popular tourist town of St Andrews is a 15-minute drive if you fancy some retail therapy, museums, cafes or bars. You'll find some absolute gems locally as well, including The Cellar, a Michelin star restaurant perfect for a night of fine dining or a special occasion. Be sure to walk some of the 180 kilometres of Fife Coastal Path, a glorious way to see this beautiful part of Scotland.
Please note that the minimum stay for this property is 2 nights
