The Carriage House is marvellous, lovingly renovated holiday home on the beautiful Ashford Hall Estate in Derbyshire. Sleeping six guests across three bedrooms, this home offers a slice of peace and tranquility in a fantastic English country setting. Guests will love the pretty colour tones, the rustic original features and the immaculate, comfy furnishings that feature throughout. This really is the ideal spot for those looking for a lovely, homely base from which to explore all that the Peak District has to offer.
The bespoke kitchen is a bit of a social hub, with all the modern amenities needed to cook up delicious feasts for your group. The kitchen also features a unique butcher’s block island where guests can sit with a glass of wine and keep the designated cook company, or gather for a morning coffee whilst planning the day ahead. This space also houses the pretty oak dining table that amply seats six guests, making it the ideal spot for hearty group meals and drinks that stretch long into the night.
The charming living room is a lovely spot in which to gather in the evening with a log-burning stove situated in a traditional stone fireplace. This room also features soft, comfy sofa seating and a TV for movie nights.
The Carriage House also has a delightful garden with a private patio area and outdoor dining furniture. This is a quaint spot to sit in summer, whilst enjoying the views of the green fields that stretch out beyond.
When it comes to bedtime, the three bedrooms are spacious and stylishly furnished. Each of the rooms features a super-comfy V Spring mattress and the finest linens, as well as luxurious fabrics. The bedrooms all have their own en suite bathroom for added privacy and convenience. One bedroom features a super king sized bed and has an en suite featuring a bath tub for added luxury, whilst the other two have king size beds and en suite shower rooms.
Guests who wish to venture out may want to head to the pretty village of Ashford in the Water, which is only a two minute walk from the house. The village has a traditional and popular local pub, a highly rated Rafters restaurant, and several lovely tearooms. There is also a well-equipped village shop.
The popular market town of Bakewell is also a short drive away and is famous for its Ye Olde Original Bakewell Puddings and also boasts a collection of small independent shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants. The fantastic Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are also just a few miles away, whilst the historic spa town of Buxton is just a 12 minute drive from your door.
Lovers of the great outdoors will delight in exploring the abundant network of scenic walks and cycle routes nearby, so be sure to bring your bike or walking boots. The Monsal Trail is only a five minute walk away and takes you in either direction to Bakewell or Buxton.
