Occupy your own private ocean resort at The Box House, an architectural delight sitting on the water's edge in Canada's Nova Scotia. The property enjoys absolute solitude surrounded by peaceful nature and breathtaking views.
The house has been built in an advanced modern style that will impress those staying before they even get inside. Set on its own 5-acre plot, The Box House accommodates up to 8 guests in a stylish and cleverly designed getaway that contrasts with its natural surroundings, yet at the same time perfectly fits in.
The expansive open plan living and dining room is the social hub, offering fantastic views across the bay through floor-to-ceiling windows. There is a sofa and armchairs to relax in and board games and books for entertainment, as well as a dining table seating up to 8 people. A large hatch looks into the kitchen, which sits in its own box room in the centre of the building. It is fully equipped, complete with a fridge, freezer, oven, dishwasher, coffee machine, and everything else required to make culinary delights. There is also a laundry area with washer and dryer.
Hallways running along the side of the house lead to the stairs and the 4 bedrooms. There are 3 double bedrooms and 1 twin room, as well as 3 private bathrooms inside and a further pool house bathroom. It is outside where this getaway shines even further, with a wind protected sun deck and heated pool connected to the main building. From here guests can step down onto their own private beach and beautiful swimming bay, or walk along the wooden boardwalk to another deck integrated among the rocks that looks out to the smaller islands. With 2 kayaks, wetsuits, lifejackets, and fishing gear also provided, there is plenty of opportunity to get out on the water.
Although set in its own remote location, The Box House is only 40 minutes from the city of Halifax and its shops, bars, restaurants and museums. Nature lovers may also enjoy the nearby National Parks of Kejim-Kuchik and Cape Breton, as well as taking the opportunity to go whale watching.
