This charming stone bothy is tucked away in four acres of beautiful untouched countryside on the Y Glyn Estate on Anglesey. You’ll be able to forage for wild elderflower and blackberries on the surrounding land to rustle up some treats in the kitchen before relaxing in the garden. If you’re feeling the itch to get out and explore, the estate is located close to the island’s cultural capital, Llangefni, and is just a 10-minute drive from the stunning coastline.
Step inside this lovely stone cottage and you’ll find the interior has been transformed into a contemporary space, designed to offer comfort and calm. Inspired by Nordic design, the open plan living space is the perfect spot to relax and unwind. An inviting wood burning stove offers cosy warmth during the cooler months while the large glass doors and skylights allow natural light to flood the room. The well-equipped kitchen runs down one side of the living space in contrasting colours to the lounge area and there’s also a dining table set in front of the window.
Move through to the bedroom at the other end of The Bothy and you’ll find a sumptuous double bed beneath a skylight offering a cosy hideaway at the end of the day. There’s also a gorgeous freestanding bath on a slightly raised area at the foot of the bed where you can relax after a long walk in the countryside. There’s a separate shower room where you’ll find Halen Mon toiletries and fluffy towels waiting for you.
On sunny days, open up the bi-folding doors at the front of The Bothy and extend your living space outside into the beautiful gardens and grounds. There’s an outdoor dining area so you can bring your meals straight out from the kitchen or cook on the BBQ. In the evenings, relax on the comfy deck chairs in front of the fire pit and toast marshmallows as you do a bit of stargazing.
There’s plenty to discover in the local area with historic houses, coastal paths and charming villages dotting the island. Located in the heart of the island, The Bothy is perfectly located for exploring all of it. Head down to the coast for a day at the beach or a long walk along the coastal path and discover hidden coves and incredible views. Visit South Stack Lighthouse to spot puffins and razorbills or step back in time with a trip to the medieval Beaumaris Castle.
