Hidden away on a country estate just seven miles west of York, you’ll find this beautiful barn conversion, a wonderful destination for family get-togethers or celebrations with friends. Open plan living spaces with underfloor heating and a large wood-burning stove create cosy spaces for socialising. There’s even a bar for mixing up some cocktails in the evenings and the option of a hot tub in the garden.
The Barn sleeps up to 12 guests in five luxurious bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom. Four of the rooms are king size and the last bedroom has four single beds and a large ensuite bathroom, complete with an elegant rolltop bathtub. The bedrooms are all beautifully decorated with contemporary fittings and neutral colours to create a relaxing atmosphere.
Downstairs, the large open plan kitchen and dining area has floor-to-ceiling windows letting in plenty of natural light. Exposed brick details and wooden features retain the original character of the building. The modern kitchen, fitted with granite worktops, a range oven and an American-style fridge-freezer, comfortably caters for everyone. The island, complete with barstools, and the large dining table make this a great space for entertaining.
Move through to the stylish living room and you’ll find large comfy sofas and a wood burner stocked with plenty of logs for cosy evenings in. A Sonos music system and 50” smart sort out the entertainment and you can pull up a stool at the bar and enjoy a drink before dinner. More floor-to-ceiling windows on either side provide access to the front garden and courtyard where you can enjoy a barbecue or a drink outside. The enclosed front garden offers stunning views over the Vale of York which can be enjoyed from the hot tub.
Whether you prefer exploring the countryside or more urban landscapes there’s plenty of both nearby. The stunning Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors are easily accessible from The Barn. Here you’ll find endless opportunities for walking, cycling and catching a glimpse of some of the local wildlife. The historic city of York is just a few miles away with a gothic cathedral, dozens of museums and independent shops to explore.
