Tucked away in the heart of the Dyfi Forest, just on the edge of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, this off-grid cabin is a true hidden gem offering couples a delightful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The Artist provides you and your loved one with breathtaking views of the valley below, making it the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the beauty of nature.
The cabin is a beautifully crafted retreat, once the studio of a local artist, it has been transformed into a cosy hideaway for two, with space for an additional guest if needed. The centrepiece is a luxurious built-in king size bed, perfectly positioned to take in the sweeping hillside views. There’s also a pull-out single bed tucked neatly beneath the large double windows.
Inside the cabin, you'll find the essentials for off-grid living, with solar-powered LED lighting and a USB charger for your phone (though don’t expect much signal here – it’s all about disconnecting). The small but charming kitchenette features a kettle and sink, ideal for brewing your morning coffee and the owners have recently added a snug log burner, perfect for those cooler evenings or rainy days. You’ll love warming toes by the fire as you tuck into a good book!
Step through the stable door to the covered veranda, where a gas BBQ and hob await for cooking alfresco. Around the back, you'll find a washing-up station and a gas-powered hot shower, with nature-friendly toiletries included. For evenings under the stars, there’s a fire pit and comfy outdoor seating – the ultimate spot for stargazing with an evening tipple in hand.
There's even an outside tap for cleaning off muddy boots or rinsing down your mountain bike, conveniently located next to the bike stand. The compost loo is just a short stroll away, and comes with clear instructions on how to keep it fresh.
If you're into mountain biking, you’re in luck – the Climachx Mountain Bike Trails are right on your doorstep, with the renowned Dyfi Bike Park just a short ride away. Prefer a slower pace? Discover serene river swimming spots, cascading waterfalls and rugged mountain landscapes, or take a leisurely 30-minute drive to the stunning beach at Aberdyfi.
For essentials, there’s the Idris Stores and café in Corris, or head to Machynlleth for larger shops like the Co-op or Spar, along with some fantastic local eateries including the Blasau Deli, Ty Medi, and The Deli.
Don’t miss the friendly village pub, Tafarn Dwynant, run by the talented local artist Kevin – it’s half pub, half gallery! You’ll even find some of his artwork on display in the cabin, all available for purchase.
