Perched on a hillside overlooking a magnificent and untouched Welsh valley, Alpaca's Rest, sleeping up to four adult guests, is a one-of-a-kind chalet style pod with its own wood fired hot tub. Situated on a sheep and alpaca farm in one of the greenest and most idyllic areas of the Welsh countryside, Huacaya's Cush Pod is the ultimate glamping getaway for adult families, couples or friend groups looking for an outdoorsy holiday experience with a difference.

Inside, the pod is deceptively spacious and has a full kitchen and bathroom. The pod is fully plumbed and wired, and is fitted with a top of the range kitchen, as well as store cupboard essentials to get you started. There is even a dishwasher, as well as a microwave, and everything else you would expect from the kitchen, utensils included.

Aside from the main space, an open plan, vaulted ceilinged chamber for cooking, eating, and generally relaxing, there are two private bedrooms, each made up with a double bed, sharing the bathroom, with its monsoon shower.

Outside, there is an open-sided porch area, with a glass covered pergola, meaning that you can take in the late Welsh evening with a roof or partial roof over your head. This spot is a wonderful area to enjoy an al fresco meal after a long day spent hiking around rural Powys, building up an appetite. You can cook up a sizzling feast on the supersize George Foreman charcoal BBQ, or whip up a delicious homemade pizza in the wood and coal-fired pizza oven.

Located beside the pod is the deep, wood-fired hot tub - the perfect spot to enjoy the amazing views or watch the stars come out as you soak tired muscles, with a bottle of something cold close at hand.

During the warmer months you can enjoy a magical outdoor movie night under starry skies. Settle into a comfy bean bag as you watch your favourite films in the open air on a 90 inch screen using a high lumen projector.

The surrounding area is a paradise for various outdoor pursuits, ranging from the sedate and aesthetic to the exhaustingly physical, with something to suit every taste and whim. A trip to the Gigrin Red Kite Feeding Station is always a delight. You could also enjoy Radnor mountain biking days out, and paintballing at the Viking Games, which also offers traditional Nordic competitive sports.

As well as canoeing and other watersports nearby, there are also multiple hiking trails snaking right past the farm. As far as culinary experiences are concerned, you really are spoiled for choice, with a number of gastropubs and restaurants dotted around, from casual fare in scenic settings to more formal, high-end eateries. The Lakeside Cafe at Llandrindod and The Harp at Old Radnor are particularly spectacular for their views. For great ales and local food, head to The Cider Barn in historic Pembridge.
