Luxurious treetop cabin for four with woodfired hot tub, located on a secluded hilltop in an 800-acre private estate in Herefordshire.
You’ll find the Quist in peaceful woodland in rural Herefordshire, perched on top of the highest hill in the 800-acre Brinsop Court Estate. A tranquil escape for families or friends, you’ll have total seclusion and privacy, the only sounds being birdsong and the breeze in the branches of the surrounding ancient woodland.
This treetop cabin has the added luxury of a woodfired hot tub on the decking, where guests can soak and take in the stunning views of the idyllic surroundings. There’s no WiFi here, the perfect opportunity to switch off, relax and reconnect with nature.
The property has been beautifully designed to blend seamlessly with its natural surroundings and features large windows throughout so you can always enjoy the views. At the centre of the cabin is the open-plan living area, which has comfy seating and can be kept warm and cosy by the ethanol-fired burner. It’s also where you’ll find the well-equipped kitchen - with everything you could need to cook up a feast - space to dine and large, sliding doors that lead out onto the gorgeous decking.
Set into the trees, the spacious outdoor area is a wonderful spot to unwind, have a morning brew or read a good book. The Swedish wood-fired hot tub sits here, as does the alfresco shower, where guests can wash with a view!
The property has two large bedrooms, one on the ground floor and the other in the ‘tent room’ designed by Côte de Folk on first floor. Both rooms have super-king beds (one can be setup as two twins) with luxurious mattresses, premium duvets and soft down pillows – you’ll be sure to have a sound night’s sleep. There’s also a family bathroom with twin sinks, a large stone bath and an incinerator loo.
The Quist is officially off-grid and is powered sustainably by a solar unit, don’t worry though, there’s more than enough power for your stay.
Guests are free to explore the Brinsop Estate, and the property is well located to discover some beautiful spots if you want to venture further afield. Malvern, the Wye Valley and the Brecon Beacons are all within driving distance and offer excellent hikes with spectacular views, as well as opportunities for mountain biking, canoeing, wild swimming and more.
If you need to stock up on supplies or fancy a drink and a bite to eat, the quaint village of Tillington is around a five-minute drive away and has well equipped shop and a fantastic pub with good food. The picturesque town of Weobley and city of Hereford are also just a short drive away, the latter renowned for its thriving market, independent shops and stunning cathedral – home to the Mappa Mundi.

Leave a reviewMy partner and I had a really lovely stay at The Quist recently, the cabin is beautiful and we both said ‘wow’ as we approached it which was relatively easy to find and only a few minutes drive up from the road. Parking the car was easy, and the use of provided wheelbarrow made an effortless treck with our luggage to the cabin Which is about 100 metres away via a bark pathway. the cabin smelt incredible upon opening the beautiful from door, and there was a instant feeling of calmness as we laid eyes on the views from every window. we were blessed with a full moon one night which felt so bright from the deck, The hot tub was lovely, -*Top Tip*- get this going asap upon arrival, as it’s wood fired , it takes a few hours to heat up. and keep adding logs pushing them to the back. keeping the cover on over night really kept the heat in, it still felt like a hot bath the next day so was easier to re heat. I loved the outdoor shower also- So calming in the morning, And the bath tub , although only used once on our visit, was lovely and relaxing-spa like. We loved the use of the bath robes and I would suggest if you’re gonna be in and out of the hot tub , to bring some flip flops and loose shorts etc. pillows and quilts were very luxurious ( I took pictures to order for my own home!) we enjoyed a few lovely meals- the oven is slightly temperamental, and food took a little longer to cook. if I was being really picky - I would have loved an actual oven glove instead of just a tea towel, maybe a pizza cutter? and a few pizza boards as I would assume most people would bung in a pizza as it’s quick, and if I’m being EXTRA picky- slightly deeper bowls as they were quite shallow. Almost child bowls I mean that’s my only critique for our whole stay! Loved the record player! Really added to the experience, we saw deer and loved the cosiness at night on the comfortable sofa. our 5G worked fine- better than in a city! overall a great stay & highly recommend! X
