Fawns Rest is a charming cabin located near the lively market town of Rhayader in the heart of Mid Wales. Designed as a romantic escape for couples, you can enjoy the idyllic rural landscape from the terrace or the comfort of the hot tub. Put your feet up and unwind or use the cabin as a base for exploring the scenic mountain roads that wind through the Elan Valley towards the coastal town of Aberystwyth. On your doorstep, you’ll find footpaths leading you through nature reserves, past waterfalls, stunning lakes and rugged mountains, making this the perfect spot for a rural retreat.

Inside the cabin, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen with everything you’ll need to rustle up hearty dinners after long walks in the Elan Valley. Move through to the open-plan dining and living area and you’ll find a cosy space, perfect for evenings in snuggled up on the sofa with a good movie on the smart TV. A king size bed awaits in the bedroom, promising a restful night’s sleep. If you need a bit of extra sleeping space, there’s a double sofa bed in the living area. The bathroom has a shower with fluffy towels waiting for you on the heated towel rail.

The living space opens up onto the deck outside with big sliding glass doors which also let in plenty of natural light. There’s a covered area directly outside the cabin, creating a lovely spot to sit in the shade or provide a bit of cover on rainy days. Relax in the hot hot tub while you soak up the scenery during the day or do a bit of stargazing in the evening. Outdoor furniture is also provided so you can sip your first cup of tea in the morning outside or enjoy your meals alfresco.

There’s plenty to do and see around the cabin from exploring charming Welsh towns and villages to long walks in the spectacular countryside. Start by exploring the Elan Valley, a fantastic location for hiking and cycling with impressive dams and beautiful waterfalls along the way. The Gilfach Nature Reserve is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts with rare birds and otters to spot. There’s also mountain biking and hiking on offer in the surrounding Cambrian Mountains which will reward you with more spectacular views.
