Enjoy a relaxing, romantic stay by the sea in one of these three cosy, bespoke, self-catering bothies. Huge windows bring the outside in, whilst striking modern and minimal design gives each space plenty of contemporary character. The three bothies are designed to allow you to experience the peace and tranquility of this gorgeous coastal region in pure comfort.
The three bothies have very similar designs, with comfy sofas sitting next to small kitchenettes. You can make your morning cuppa and sit down to enjoy the view from this spot, whilst planning your day's activities. The quaint kitchenette has a small fridge, table top hob, microwave, toaster, kettle and all the cutlery and glassware you'll need. There is a private outdoor seating area on offer too, so you can sit in the sunshine with a glass of wine, or enjoy some al fresco dining in summer.
Above the kitchen lies the mezzanine bunk area, which has a nice and comfy super king sized bed. You can wake in the morning and take in the view from your bed, gazing out at the greenery and sea beyond. Whilst these bothies are ideal for couples looking for a romantic retreat, each one can also accommodate an extra couple as the sofa in the lounge area folds out into a double bed. You also have a bathroom complete with a shower, WC, and basin.
Tucked away on a little stretch of the North East coast of Scotland, guests at Tahuna Bothies are ideally located to explore the many hidden gems that this part of the country has to offer. First up, you're just a five minute walk from the Newburgh seal colony. Here, you can see lots of seals as they lounge around the mouth of the Ythan River. These wonderfully inquisitive animals are always entertaining, so be sure to go and take a look.
If you head further south, you can visit the vast sandy beach and dune system which takes you all the way to Aberdeen. This is an ideal space for relaxing by the sea in summer, or long windy walks when the weather's not so nice. North of the estuary is the Forvie Natural Nature Reserve which has plenty of beautiful walking and cycling opportunities that take you past dramatic bays and the picturesque village of Collieston.
When it comes to castles, this area has lots to offer. From the Slains Castle ruins, which inspired Bram Stoker's Dracula, to the superbly well maintained Fyvie Castle or the awe inspiring cliff top fortress of Dunnottar Castle there is something to inspire all travellers.
