Suie Hunting Lodge is the former shooting lodge of the Suie Estate. Built in 1780 the Lodge is steeped in history and character. Bought by its new caretakers in 2015 it has been redesigned as a small boutique style hotel where a passion for eclectic design and great food is evident. This charming country retreat would be perfect for any travellers passing through the Highlands who enjoy peace and quiet and maybe a wee dram.
Located in beautiful Glen Dochart between Crianlarich and Killin, the lodge has a lovely isolated feel and the views of the surroundings are breathtaking. Located right on the A85 north of Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park there is plenty of this beautiful part of Scotland to explore.
Each of the refurbished room has been individually decorated to a wonderful standard, blending the old exposed walls with eclectic vintage furniture to create a unique blend of traditional Scottish and stylish boutique elegance. The colours reflect the mountains outside with muted blues, greys and putty white creating a soothing and relaxing ambience. Local artists' work adorn the walls and you'll find some rooms with luxurious rainfall showers and others with cast iron roll top baths. All the rooms have 400 thread count, 100% cotton sheets and deep comfortable beds to ensure the best sleep after all that wonderful country air. Every room includes complimentary toiletries from Laura Thomas Co sustainable luxury toiletries and there are tea and coffee making facilities for your convenience and that middle of the night cuppa.
The lodge also has a rather fabulous bar where you'll find a small and carefully selected menu. Try one of their popular sharing boards including wild venison charcuterie, a fish selection and a veggie option. These are paired with a small but perfectly curated whisky selection. And if whisky isn't to your taste they have a great wine list too and some Scottish brewed lager on tap!
Outside of the lodge you might like to visit the Dochart falls and stop for a bite at the Falls of Dochart, or maybe the Smokehouse. Alternatively visit the stone circle in Killin and stop by The Courie Inn for some Scottish fare. You may also wish to visit the scenic Loch Tay where you can enjoy some kayaking on the loch with your loved one. Outdoorsy types will also love the amount of fabulous walking opportunities nearby that take you past some fantastic scenery. Afterwards you can head back to the Suie Hunting Lodge where the owners, Robbie and Pauline, will make sure you're well looked after.
