Architect designed, contemporary holiday home for two in Argyll with breathtaking castle views, ultra-modern design, and a luxury sunken hot tub.
Enjoy a supremely luxurious stay in a forgotten slice of Argyll, at Stormhouse South. This super-modern and super-comfortable holiday home offers sleek, contemporary design, wonderful furnishings, and heart stopping views of the surrounding area. A fantastic romantic retreat, Stormhouse South was designed by highly acclaimed local architect Alasdair MacMillan, who has made great use of the spectacular view with huge windows letting the outside in. And there's also a log burner and underfloor heating to ensure that you stay cosy all year round.
The house was built using nothing but the best materials, from the cedar cladding to the tactile polished cement floors, all of which give this property a truly unique and luxe feel. Combine this with the modern technology on offer, the sunken hot tub on the deck, and the comfy furnishings, and you have everything you need for an enjoyable stay.
The living space is open plan and features some classic Swiss Desede Furniture, which means you can sink into the comfiest leather chairs you'll find - the ideal place from which to enjoy the view with a glass of wine. This area also features the uber-modern, and wonderfully elegant kitchen, which features a huge island for food preparation, and all of the mod cons needed to cook a delicious dinner. You can also keep yourself entertained by making use of the SONOS sound system, and the full Sky package on the property's television.
After a day out exploring the local area guests will want to get a great night's sleep, and that's what's most certainly on offer in the beautiful king size bed in the property's one bedroom. The big bed features Egyptian cotton sheets and offers view of the castle, meaning you can wake up and enjoy a morning coffee gazing out across the water. The modern wet room is wall-to-wall concrete, and features a spacious waterfall shower. There's also an inbuilt SONOS sound system, so you can listen to your own music whilst you're in the shower.
Outside, this property has a luxurious, sunken hot tub that features a stylish tiled mosaic design. You can get comfy and enjoy a luxurious soak with a glass of wine whilst taking in the incredible surroundings. The hydromassage spa hot tub is fitted with pressurised water jets for a truly indulgent and relaxing experience.
Whilst guests will be forgiven for wanting to spend all of their time making the most of what's on offer at Stormhouse, those who do venture out to explore will be rewarded. Appin, for example, is becoming more and more known as a food lover's dream, with a number of fantastic restaurants on offer. You're a 10 minutes’ walk to The Old Inn, which has a small yet wonderful menu specialising in its 6-week hung Highland steaks. The Castle Stalker View Cafe & Gift Shop is just a five minute walk from your door and is open every day during the season. This spot offers smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, proper Italian coffee, and some delightful home baked goods.
The area is also an idyllic spot for lovers of the great outdoors with miles and miles of rugged coastlines on offer. You can pop out and kayak around the castle on Loch Laich which is the sea inlet that's just in front of Stormhouse. You can also visit the picturesque island of Lismore or hike up the two nearest mountains of Beinn Sgulaird and Beinn Fhionnlaidh. Glencoe, arguably Scotland’s most scenic and historic glen, is just a half hour’s drive from your door and is also worth a visit if you fancy heading out a little further.
