Boutique-style hotel rooms and suites inspired by the golden age of ocean cruising in the heart of London’s dynamic South Bank.
Sea Containers London is an independent run hotel, part of Lore Group.
Set within the Sea Containers building on London’s South Bank, this boutique hotel offers 359 rooms and suites inspired by 1920s transatlantic ocean liners. The rooms feature bespoke furniture, atmospheric lighting and marble bathrooms. There are also three food and drink venues inspired by early twentieth-century travel when exotic ingredients started to be used around the world.
There are 11 types of rooms, suites and apartments to choose from, all offering queen or king-size beds, bespoke furniture designed by Tom Dixon and en-suite marble bathrooms. From the Standard Rooms with their sumptuous beds, rainfall showers and eye-catching contemporary decor, to the Riverview suites and apartments with their breathtaking city and river views.
Couples looking for a city escape might want to try a Superior Room with their romantic views of the city skyline, or a Superior Patio Room with outdoor seating in an ivy-clad patio, perfect for al fresco dining or a relaxing evening cocktail. Families might prefer a Superior Double Double Room with plenty of space and twin double beds, or even a River Deluxe Double Double Room with wall-to-wall views over the city. Upgrade to a suite or apartment for separate living areas and unparalleled views.
There are three great options when it comes to food and drink in the hotel itself. Sea Containers Restaurant serves up seasonal, ingredient-led cooking inspired by the age of ocean cruising which celebrated fresh and local produce in all parts of the world. Head upstairs to 12th Knot to enjoy panoramic views of the River Thames from the rooftop lounge, or, if you’re looking for something a little bit different to drink, Lyaness on the ground floor is an experimental cocktail bar.
You also have the opportunity to relax with a personalised treatment at Agua London or in the state-of-the-art gym featuring cardio equipment with smartphone connectivity. Or, head to the Curzon Cinema with its stylish, comfy seating, plenty of legroom and a wide range of films on offer.
The hotel is located on London’s South Bank, home to some of London’s most popular cultural landmarks. A stroll along the River to the east will take you to the Tate Modern, The Globe Theatre and on to Borough Market. Head in the other direction and you’ll find the OXO Tower, the National Theatre and the Southbank Centre. Cross the river and you’ll find yourself in vibrant Soho or explore the fascinating history of the Tower of London and St. Pauls Cathedral in The City.
