You should know

• While the kitchen looks good, it isn’t super well-equipped for cooking up a storm — there’s only an under-counter fridge, for example.
• There’s no washing machine or dryer in this home, so you’ll have to do your laundry elsewhere.
• You have to climb a flight of stairs before reaching the apartment entrance, so it might not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility.
• The concierge can arrange for a parking space if you're arriving by car.

If you're in search of a stylish, contemporary apartment to accommodate your stay in the capital, look no further. Step into the open living space and you'll find a reflective chequerboard floor underneath a disco ball that — you won't be expecting this — opens up into a bed.

The kitchen is set up like a dark and sultry bar, complete with stools lined against the counter and glasses stacked on the display shelves, while the master bedroom — accessed through a door-within-a-door — also has a bathtub hidden away behind some curtains.

Although you could easily spend your whole weekend in this eclectic space, there's plenty to see in the locale. Part of the Berlin Wall still stands on the street outside, and there are a varied collection of flea markets, artisanal cafes and galleries in the neighbourhood. Mauerpark is only ten minutes' walk down the street, too.

Mitte is the heart of Berlin - where it all began. Packed with some of Berlin’s most popular tourist attractions, it goes without saying that there’s plenty going on in this part of the city - Brandenburger Gate, Berliner Dom, the Reichstag, the Holocaust Memorial, and the cluster of museums on Museum Island are all located within the Mitte neighbourhood making it easy to see a lot in a short time.

As a diverse mix of corporate office buildings and residential apartment complexes, Mitte is primarily populated by affluent people, old and young, families and singles. Despite being a busy part of the city, it also offers an antidote to all the hustle and bustle with atmospheric attractions like Hackescher Markt as well as the stunning walking paths along the picturesque Spree River. If you aren’t scared of heights, the iconic TV tower on Alexanderplatz offers a spinning restaurant with breath-taking views of Berlin.
