Situated in North Devon on the site of Owl Valley Glamping is Tawny Cabin. This charming, rustic retreat has been meticulously built by local craftsmen and sits in its own scenic slice of a tranquil valley. You and your loved ones can rest and unwind, enjoying a break surrounded by trees and greenery with the peaceful soundtrack of a nearby stream.
With space for up to five people, Tawny Cabin features a comfortable king-size bed, two single futon beds on a mezzanine floor and a small double sofa bed. This makes it ideal for families looking to escape to the North Devon countryside.
Inside, a log burner sets the stage for cosy evenings, however, outside is where the place fully comes to life. Here you have a fully equipped kitchen area complete with gas and water supply, as well as all the essential cooking tools. And adjacent to the kitchen, is an inviting undercover BBQ area where you can grill some delicious local produce.
On your private decking area, a large table and chairs offer the perfect setting for alfresco meals that stretch long into the night, sheltered from the sun and rain by a generous porch. And, the cabin also boasts its own exclusive wood-fired hot tub offering you and your fellow guests the perfect opportunity to relax and unwind after a day exploring the surrounding countryside.
Tawny Cabin also features a fire pit situated alongside the stream, complemented by log seats, offering you an ideal gathering spot for sharing campfire stories and roasting marshmallows under the starry night sky.
Guests staying at Tawny Cabin are also provided with a private bathroom, consisting of a generous shower room with a gas-powered shower and a separate toilet room furnished with a Biolan composting toilet.
As an off-grid dwelling, Tawny Cabin is adorned with numerous solar-powered lanterns and fairy lights, both inside and outside, adding a touch of enchantment to your stay.
Adjacent to the cabin is Steve's Shack, a recreational space designed for your leisure. Inside, you'll find a pool table, a dartboard, a selection of board games, a cosy log burner and ample candles. This space is perfect for those occasional rainy evenings. Additionally, there is a small honesty shop where you can conveniently purchase essentials such as extra firewood, additional BBQ coal and freezer packs for the provided cool boxes.
Further up on the Carriage Way, you'll discover the rustic cob and stone Beaters Hut, affectionately known as the bus stop, which offers an excellent vantage point for stargazing. And nestled deeper into the woods lies the expansive campfire site, situated in the old quarry, providing a tranquil and secluded setting for gathering around a roaring fire.
If you venture out, you have all of North Devon to explore. You're a short drive from the charming market town of Bideford and also close to a number of fabulous beaches.
