Welsh Farm Glamping offers three private escapes set on an idyllic family run farm in rural Carmarthenshire. The farm features a gorgeous cabin called Chestnut Cabin and a pair of cosy yurts called the Country Yurt and the Yurt Hideaway.
Up first is Chestnut Cabin, which sleeps five guests between two bedrooms. This cosy and rustic cabin on a Welsh farm is the perfect self-catering holiday home, enjoying a private electric-powered hot tub and an expansive garden beneath a towering horse chestnut tree.
Chestnut Cabin is surrounded by greenery, with everything you need for a Welsh adventure, including a woodfired pizza oven and picnic area. Warmed by a wood-burning stove, powered by free logs throughout your stay, Chestnut Cabin is cosy in its design and equipped with a range of amenities to ensure that whatever the season, you’re comfortable and relaxed throughout your stay.
The Chestnut Cabin’s main living space is an open-feeling communal room with exposed rafters and neutral tones. Unusual board games mean that a day spent inside won’t be gloomy. Next door from this room, a master bedroom comes with a double bed and views of the trees outside, while a remarkable triple bed in the other bedroom can sleep up to three people, suiting multiple configurations of guests.
Up next are the two yurts. The Country Yurt is the larger of the two, sleeping up to four guests. This yurt enjoys total privacy in the corner of the farm and has a cosy interior that’s been cleverly crafted featuring a butler sink, king size oak bed, a reclaimed pine table and even a wood-burning stove. A private eco-washroom, a few steps from the yurt, has been cleverly converted to a bathroom, complete with hot shower, wash basin, and a compost toilet.
With a large translucent window in the crown of the Yurt, and nothing but the peaceful chatter of the surrounding nature, the Country Yurt is the perfect destination for those seeking a back to nature retreat in the heart of Wales.
The second, smaller yurt, is The Yurt Hideaway, which is beautifully positioned in a glade within a beech, ash and oak wood. With your own private woodland plot you and your loved one are guaranteed a tranquil stay, so make yourself at home.
Inside the yurt, you'll find everything needed for a cosy stay, including a fully equipped kitchen, wood-burning stove and a charming dining area for two. The yurt also features a handcrafted oak king size bed, a rustic wooden floor, repurposed furniture and natural textiles set this yurt apart.
Outside, enjoy an electric hot tub, fire pit and pizza oven - perfect for romantic evenings. The solar-powered shepherd's hut bathroom, with a slate floor, oak barrel toilet and walk-in shower, adds an extra touch of luxury.
One of the best things about staying at Welsh Farm Glamping is knowing that every booking helps to support the incredible work of the Fisherman's Rest Community Project, a charity in Malawi which the owners work closely with.
This area of Wales has long been considered a paradise for those who enjoy being outdoors, and draws visitors from all over the UK and beyond. Guests will be delighted to find The Blue Lagoon a short distance away, with a well-earned reputation for some of the best coasteering in Britain.
Literary enthusiasts are encouraged to make the trip to nearby Laugaurne, the celebrated location of Dylan Thomas’ boat house, while nearby Cardigan is certainly worth popping into to pick up some locally made fare from independent retailers. Closer to home, The Fox and Hounds is a brilliant dog-friendly local pub with a great kitchen.
