Hidden away in the Welsh countryside, close to pretty harbour towns and just fifteen minutes from the stunning sandy beaches of Cardigan Bay, Treberfedd Farm’s eco cabins offer both luxury and sustainability. Surrounded by 80 acres of wildlife-friendly organic farm and powered by a wind turbine and solar panels, this is a truly green holiday experience. Both of the cabins, Saffir and Aerona, enjoy panoramic views of the Aeron Valley from its spectacular hilltop location. Wake up to mist covering the valley and the sun rising over the mountains. The innovative octagonal design of the eco-cabins keeps you close to nature while offering a luxurious experience. Materials from the farm have been used, such as the organic meadow grass on the roofs and the sheep wool which is used as insulation. You’ll find upcycled furniture inside and the cabins are supported by Scots Pines.
The octagonal shape of the cabins ensures that they feel spacious and the underfloor heating, powered by the farm’s own energy, keeps you warm at any time of year. The cosy living areas have comfy chairs and TVs and a supply of home-grown firewood will keep the log-burners going. Opposite this, each cabin has a large oak dining table is perfectly positioned to enjoy the views across the valley. The fully-equipped kitchen means you can create all your favourite meals without fuss and the cloakroom next door leads through to a bathroom complete with a rain head shower. A sumptuous super king-size bed has views of the valley, so you can watch the sun rise or set from the comfort of your pillow. There are also fold down bunk beds in case you want to bring the kids along.
If you choose to stay in Aerona, you also have the opportunity to enjoy the stunning views over the valley from the comfort of a Swedish wood-fired hot tub. Heated via its own wood-burning stove and the farm’s homegrown firewood, no electricity is required. The hot tub is also filled with fresh water meaning there’s no need for any chemicals either.
Guests are free to explore the farm’s 80 acres which features nature trails, a playground for the kids, a pizza oven, a games room, a climbing wall and plenty of animals to meet. If you want to venture further into West Wales, Treberfedd Farm is perfectly located for exploring everything from the mountains to the beaches. Explore the Welsh-speaking towns of Aberaeron and Lampeter, catch a glimpse of some dolphins on a boat trip or take the Rheidol Valley Steam Train through some of the country’s most dramatic scenery.
