Beautifully renovated farmhouse with a hot tub in the heart of Somerset’s countryside, perfect for a relaxing rural retreat.
Hidden away at the end of a private track, Lower Hedge Farm is a peaceful haven for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle. The rural setting and beautiful stone buildings, still with many of the original features, are completely charming. The house and grounds have been renovated to bring them right up to date while celebrating the gorgeous wooden beams, inglenook fireplaces and flagstones of the original farmhouse. You’ll even find the original bread oven. The house comfortably accommodates 14 guests and is perfect for family gatherings or group trips.
On the ground floor, you’ll find big spacious rooms, perfect for entertaining. There are two sitting rooms, the larger of the two with large comfy sofas, high ceilings and doors leading straight out into the garden. There’s also a large plasma TV for evenings in with a film. The other sitting room is a cosy space where you can curl up in front of the fire on chillier evenings or escape with a book for some downtime. There is a large, bright kitchen which opens out onto a dining area while there’s also a more formal dining room for big dinners and celebrations.
Head upstairs to find the five luxurious bedrooms all with sumptuous bed linen and fluffy towels waiting for you. There are four bedrooms on the first floor, two of which are en suites and the other two share a family bathroom. Head upstairs once more and you’ll find the final bedroom which is a long spacious room with four single beds and an ensuite bathroom. You get wonderful views of the surrounding countryside from the windows of this attic room.
Wander outside to find the games room with table tennis, darts and a pool table in a separate building. Take in the views of unspoilt countryside from the hot tub or fire up the BBQ on a beautiful summer’s day.
Just fifteen minutes away, you’ll find the Sedum Spa which offers a variety of treatments, from luxurious facials to Swedish Full Body Massages. There’s also a heated indoor pool and a Nordic outdoor hot tub which both offer spectacular views of Glastonbury Tor. The house makes a great base for exploring some of Somerset’s best sights and attractions. The country’s smallest city, Wells, is nearby with its beautiful architecture and stunning cathedral. Explore the streets and shops of Glastonbury and walk to the top of the Tor for panoramic views which take in the site of the famous festival.
