Set on an extraordinary 600 acre wildlife reserve in the pastures of Kent, Lion Lodge is two state-of-the art timber clad safari-style lodges with picture windows facing the reserve's lion enclosure. Designed and decorated by the Aspinall Foundation’s head of design, each of the two lodges has a rustic, spacious aesthetic, and benefits from a range of high-end amenities, as well as exclusive access to the park’s attractions outside of business hours.
The lodges are built into the boundary of the lion habitat, and each benefit from two large windows in the main living spaces and master bedrooms, meaning that guests can look out into the lion habitat and see magnificent big cats roaming before them. In addition to witnessing lions from the comfort of a truly remarkable lodge-style space, guests can expect a full suite of luxury experiences, including the natural wood heated Scandinavian outdoor baths.
Each lodge is built around a main central living space, which benefits from a large open fire, and the wow-factor window onto the lion enclosure. With spiral staircases, timber finishes, and bespoke furniture, the lodges have a unique blend of safari style and a more urban industrial chic. Sleeping four, the lodges include a master bedroom and a mezzanine level sleeping platform with twin singles. In addition to views of the lions, each property has a private garden with picturesque views across the reserve to the Kent coast.
While the lions on your doorstep are undeniably the chief appeal of the accommodation, there is a range of unique activities to take advantage of during your stay. Travel across the park by golf buggy and take in over 80 exotic animal species in your own time including safari experiences with the country's only giraffe herd, before visiting one of the hotel bars or excellent restaurants within the Reserve.
Relax in style in a top of the range space which benefits from underfloor heating, a Nespresso machine, mini-bar and range of Bamford Organic toiletries. Start the day with a complimentary full English breakfast, and head out on a guided truck safari and make your own way around the rest of the reserve on the golf-buggy which is yours for the duration of the stay.
