Overlooking stunning Abbey ruins in Winchelsea, Herons Wood has more than a touch of grandeur and history and a private enclosed garden with wood-fired hot tub.
This is a fantastic apartment in Winchelsea with meticulously restored original features, including sweeping ceilings, stone mullion windows, Gothic plasterwork and an original fireplace with a wood burner. Outside is a private garden with a wood-fired hot tub for added luxury as well as sun loungers and alfresco dining furniture.
Back inside and the living room features the woodburner and a basket of logs to keep you cosy during your stay. This room also features wonderful antique furniture, comfortable sofas and the stunning view of the Franciscan Abbey ruins framed by tall windows. Guests will love curling up with a good book in front of the fire, whilst enjoying the view.
At the table for five overlooking the courtyard, in the kitchen/diner, you will find a welcome basket of local produce, and all you require to cook up a feast in the well appointed kitchen.
Drift off in the Emperor sized bed, in the en suite master bedroom, on a cashmere and wool mattress, with silky 800tc bedlinen, or tuck in for movie night on the smart TV. Other guests can be accommodated in the second double bedroom, with the marbled bathroom next door, and the (extremely cool) tucked away single bunk bed that's ideal for kids aged between five and 16 years old.
Explore Winchelsea’s cellar tours, 13th century church with stunning stained glass windows, farm shop, pub, and our the nearby Charles Palmer’s vineyard wine tours. The private garden is a stunning spot to enjoy a glass of wine or spend the evening relaxing in the wood-fired hot tub. Your dog is welcome to join you, but will need to be kept off furniture and not in the bedrooms.
