This collection of delightful cottages all offer gorgeous, rustic interiors and super-comfy furnishings. Add to this the deluxe additions of roll-top baths for indulgent soaks, and their location in the heart of the charming Kent town of Broadstairs, and you’ve got the perfect place for a break by the sea.
The five cottages each sleep four guests across two cosy bedrooms, with space for an additional guest in each on a pull-out sofa bed. These delightful, newly renovated, seaside cottages provide elegant and welcoming interiors.
The cottages are nestled in a tranquil little mews and a great deal of care and love has been poured into renovating each one.
You enter each cottage into an open plan living and dining area with stripped back wooden floorboards, Victorian leather and wicker furniture and a beautiful bespoke kitchenette with a butler's sink that compliments the space. You have everything at your disposal to cook meals and enjoy them together.
There is a distinctly Victorian feel to the décor throughout each cottage that fits in perfectly with the mood of this quaint English seaside town.
Each cottage has two cosy armchairs nestled by a wood burning stove where you can sit and read, cosy up with a cup of tea or listen to the radio with the crackling of the burner lulling you into a snooze.
You'll find a lot of attention to detail with pretty art and round mirrors adorning the walls, a selection of coffee table books to peruse and the antique round dining table, perfect for gathering together to enjoy a game of cards or a bottle wine at the end of a day of exploring.
Head down to the lower level and you'll find a very cosy snug with a built in daybed where you can watch a film on the flat screen TV before bed. The snug also doubles as an extra room with the daybed making a very comfortable single. A collection of different shaped mirrors decorate the pale walls and there's little else to distract you from a peaceful night's rest.
There are two additional main bedrooms on the upper level of each cottage, both with iron framed double beds decked out in crisp linens and pretty cushions, pale creamy walls with exposed beams, more of that tasteful art, mirrors, books to browse and a general warm, welcoming and elegant feel.
After a good night's slumber you can pad along to the luxurious bathroom and enjoy a long lazy soak in the roll-top bathtub before heading back down to the living area for that first coffee!
There is something quintessentially English about a Victorian seaside holiday and Broadstairs is a delightful example of this. Pack up a picnic and make the short three-minute walk to Viking Bay beach to spend the day swimming, sunning and eating ice cream from the famous Morelli Parlour.
The next nearest beach is Joss Bay, less than two miles long, and well worth a visit. Stroll along the seafront and visit the Victorian Garden, wander down Victoria Parade and pop into the Dickens Pub, visit the historic Eagle House and explore all the independent boutique shops.
For a truly local supper head to the Tartare Frigate Pub famous for its fresh fish and local ales. And if you're a Charles Dickens fan you should definitely go and see the famous Beak House! For those who love a good cobweb clearing walk the nearby Thanet Coastal path winds along cliffs and coastal woodlands providing stunning views of the English Channel. Oh, we do love to be beside the seaside!
