Kirkstone Cottage is the ultimate in contemporary Cumbrian style - think exposed stone walls, luxurious furnishings and slate floors. You’ll find this stunning cottage amidst the wonderfully exclusive site of Mirefoot. Home to just five beautifully appointed cottages, it has shared facilities that can easily rival that of a five-star hotel. With stunning grounds and an indoor pool and spa, it’s simply divine. Step into the fabulous pool area to discover underfloor heating, a large jacuzzi, sauna, gym, treatment room and breathtaking bi-fold doors out onto a shared terrace. And as there are a maximum of just 14 guests at any one time, peace and tranquility will be yours for the taking.
The large open plan kitchen and living area is stunning - with an impressive vaulted ceiling complete with A-frame beams. The lounge is happily situated around a large wood burning stove - with contemporary sofas and a superb slate tiled floor. The airy dining area is beautifully situated next to the large patio doors - head out from here to the terrace and its rather stunning views of the meadow beyond.
The bespoke kitchen sits gloriously next to the exposed stone wall. This high-spec kitchen has all the mod-cons and boasts a stunning feature island at its helm. It’s not just pretty though - it’s a real cook’s kitchen with everything you could need from a mixer to an ice-cream maker. If you’d rather take it easy, then you can always hire in Mirefoot’s resident chef to take care of that special dinner.
The master double is home to a rather handsome upholstered bed and is effortlessly chic with its crisp white linen, feature wall and elegant lighting. Head through to the ensuite which is finished to a beautiful standard with a gleaming walk-in shower.
The second double can be set up as a twin if needed. It’s a lovely room with a muted colour scheme, patio doors and a stunning ensuite bathroom.
The onsite facilities at Mirefoot are as beautiful and well-tended to as the exclusive cottages that inhabit it. Feel free to explore the three acres of established gardens, arboretum and large pond. The indoor pool and spa is dazzling with underfloor heating, a large jacuzzi, sauna, gym and treatment room. And the bi-fold doors that open out onto the shared terrace really elevates this luxurious space to the next level.
The local area is stunning - well you are in the heart of the Lake District after all. Walks and cycle routes from the door are truly spectacular - ask at reception to fill you in on the best routes to explore. And with Lakeland gems such as Ambleside, Lake Windermere and Ullswater all within easy striking distance, you’re in a great location to discover the best that the Lake District has to offer.
