A luxurious farmhouse cottage in a lush Cumbrian estate, just a short hop away from the Lake District National Park in the delightful Eden Valley.
Jenny’s Croft is a luxurious cottage nestled in the private 20 acre grounds of Cumbria’s Rowley Estate. Overlooking the magnificent Pennine Hills and the spectacular Eden Valley, it is a stunning place in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Roam across the peaceful fields and through the secluded woodland, to spot sparkling rivers, restored manors and the beautiful Lake District.
The traditional stone cottage adjoins a handful of exclusive farm buildings and has been exquisitely renovated to create a sumptuous hideaway. Original features exude a timeless, rustic splendour, while modern comforts add to its welcoming atmosphere. With characterful features and a handcrafted quality, it is an incredible place for an escape to the country.
Downstairs, the cottage has a spacious open plan living area with comfortable sofas, a period dining table and a quality wood floor. A double sided cast iron wood burner adds to its historic character and is joined by exposed stone walls and dark wood beamed ceilings. A well-equipped kitchen can also be found downstairs and has sleek oak cupboards and a family breakfast area. From here a door opens out onto the private terrace where you can breathe in the fresh country air or gaze at star-studded vistas.
Upstairs, there are two en-suite double bedrooms with deluxe mattresses and designer bedding. The master double room has an antique bedframe with a quirky arched window and a vintage rocking chair. Old suitcases form an interesting corner feature and are joined by warm colour tones and a soft, neutral carpet. The second twin/double room is also lovingly furnished and has a contemporary en-suite bathroom with a ‘rainwater’ shower.
The Rowley Estate has a truly remarkable location and is surrounded by flourishing country expanses and idyllic rural scenes. The captivating Lake District can be found just over the horizon, along with blossoming valleys and lush river glens. Enjoy pony trekking, clay pigeon shooting, fishing, hiking or cycling, before finishing off with a day of sailing at the striking Lake Ullswater.
For a more relaxing day, there are all sorts of attractions to be found in the local area, including the charming gardens of Blencowe Hall, Dalemain House and Hutton in the Forest. The picturesque village of Melmerby can also be found close-by, while the little hamlet of Glassonby is just a short walk away
