Located just five minutes from the enchanting town centre of Glastonbury, Hunter’s Moon is right at home amidst the Arthurian legends and many myths associated with this part of Somerset. Beautiful details to both the interior and exterior of the building resemble ancient trees, sometimes giving the impression you’re deep in the woods. The house itself dates back to around 1580 and has been expertly extended to add some luxurious spaces. You’ll find features like the freestanding bath and a cocktail balcony overlooking the garden in the master bedroom and a huge entertainment pod with a constellation ceiling, underfloor heating and a widescreen TV. This quirky house makes for a memorable stay in the heart of Somerset for a large family or group of friends.
This unique house is striking from the moment you set eyes on it. Beautifully carved wood features surround the front door and windows, creating the feel of a magical woodland abode. These details are continued throughout the house, from the windows and doors to the kitchen cabinets to the wardrobes, creating the feeling that the building has been built around an ancient oak tree.
Instead of the rustic atmosphere you’d usually expect such decor to create, Hunter’s Moon exudes luxury. Relax in the entertainment pod, 10 metres across with a sophisticated Bang & Olufsen widescreen TV and sound system, underfloor heating and a constellation ceiling above. Each of the four bedrooms sleeps two with memory foam mattresses and their own ensuite bathrooms with the master bedroom enjoying a freestanding bathtub.
Outside, you can sit back and relax in the hot tub while enjoying the rural scenery or get something sizzling away on the barbecue for dinner. There’s also a herb garden and even a dedicated badger-watching spot.
The house is a 45-minute walk from the Glastonbury Festival site, making this a great option for groups who want to enjoy the music but would rather avoid the camping element. A special festival package can be arranged ahead of time that includes free Sunday tickets. At other times of the year, explore the quirky town centre and stock up on supplies at one of the local markets. The famous Glastonbury Tor is just a three-minute drive away and a climb to the top will reward you with some stunning views. There’s plenty more to explore in Somerset, from beautiful medieval Wells, the smallest city in England, to the fantastic galleries and restaurants in Bruton.
