Tucked away in the Staffordshire Moorlands area of the Peak District National Park, this beautiful barn conversion is a fantastic spot to escape from it all. Located in a 16th century farming hamlet, the barn has recently been transformed into luxury accommodation for four guests while still fitting in with its historic surroundings. With walking and cycling straight from the front door and idyllic orchard views which you can enjoy from the hot tub, it’s perfect for those looking to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside.
Step inside the barn and you’ll find yourself in a utility and boot room kitted out with a washer, dryer, sink and towel rail. Here, you’ll be able to sort out your outdoor gear after a day exploring the National Park before heading upstairs to the big open plan living space. This is a bright and airy room with high ceilings, feature beams and oak floors creating a welcoming atmosphere. Prepare dinner in the fully-fitted oak kitchen while the table is laid in the dining area. After dinner, light the wood burner and settle down in front of a movie or get the map out and pick out a walk for the next day.
You’ll find the two ensuite bedrooms on the ground floor, one with a super-king size bed and the other with two singles. They’re all made up with deep mattress toppers and crisp white cotton bed linen. Fluffy towels will be waiting for you and underfloor heating keeps the whole barn cosy.
After a long walk or bike ride in the Peak District National Park, recover with a long soak in the hot tub located on the covered porch outside. There’s a big wraparound patio with outdoor furniture so you can enjoy your meals outside in the summer months and sit out late into the evening under magical dark skies, perfect for stargazing.
The barn is set amidst the spectacular scenery of the Staffordshire Moorlands on the Hamps Way with bustling market towns nearby and stately homes to visit. For a walk with some stunning views, head to the top of the moor at Morridge and you’ll be able to see the Welsh mountains in the distance on a clear day. Dovedale's ‘Stepping Stones’ and The Roaches are also nearby, both fantastic places to explore on foot. For a bit of independent shopping and some great restaurants, Leek and Ashbourne are both 15 minutes away and the many famous potteries of Stoke-on-Trent are also nearby.
