If you’re looking for a cosy and comfy stay for two by the sea, then Claron Lodge might just be the place for you. This collection of three charming studio apartments offer couples a delightful stay close to West Wittering beach.

In tribute to the area's rich sailing heritage, the three suites are named after the iconic boats from Arthur Ransome's beloved children’s novels: Swallow and Amazon, of course, along with Teasel, the Norfolk Broads cruising yacht featured in Coot Club.

The suites are tucked away in Claron Lodge, a house steeped in history and character, with layers of design spanning the 70s, 60s, 50s, and even further back. Once serving as the garage and servant’s quarters for the impressive Claron Way estate, the property boasts a fascinating past. In 1959, Harrod’s Estate Agents described Claron Way as a “house of charming character,” with origins dating back to the 16th century, later expanded and modernised with no expense spared.

The three studios each offer couples a lovely place to relax and unwind. All three feature well-equipped kitchens, complete with Nespresso coffee machines, where you can whip up a hearty breakfast whilst enjoying that all-important first brew of the day. The studios also feature quaint dining tables for two that makes a nice spot to sit together and tuck into lunch.

The open plan living space also features a comfy sitting area, complete with a flat screen TV that’s ideal for movie nights or catching up on your favourite shows.

When night falls, the three studios all offer different sleeping arrangements. Swallow features a wonderful super-king size bed that can also be arranged as twin beds if required. Amazon has a king size bed that sits on a lovely high-level mezzanine and also offers the use of the double sofa-bed, making this studio ideal for two friends travelling together who do not wish to share a bed - speak to the owners when booking if you would like to make use of the sofa bed. And finally, Teasel has a separate bedroom that features a king size bed. All three studios also have a beautiful wet-room style ensuite bathroom.

West Wittering, with its pristine sandy beach and sweeping coastal views, is ideal for a fab day out by the sea. Popular for windsurfing, picnics and scenic walks, its unspoiled charm is perfect for all ages. Nearby Chichester blends history and culture, boasting the stunning Chichester Cathedral, a bustling market and the renowned Festival Theatre.

For nature lovers, the surrounding countryside offers tranquil escapes, including the South Downs National Park, with rolling hills and charming villages. Discover the Roman heritage at Fishbourne Palace or stroll through the picturesque harbour villages like Bosham.
