Sleeping up to eight guests, this fabulous, luxury barn offers you and your loved ones the perfect base for your next rural escape. Situated in the charming Herefordshire countryside, Cato’s Barn has been recently refurbished, transforming it into a modern, spacious home, whilst holding onto everything that ensures a building like this remains so special.
Inside, the barn is brimming with rustic charm thanks to exposed beams and brickwork, log burning fireplaces and carefully chosen, comfy furnishings. Add to this the modern amenities and the fabulous views of the incredible surrounding scenery and you’ve got a wonderful home from home.
Get comfy on the two big sofas in the dining room that sit next to the wood burning fireplace. This is an ideal spot to curl up with a glass of wine as the flames flicker. The dining room also features a large, grand dining table that comfortably seats up to 14 guests, making it ideal for big suppers that stretch long into the night.
Other lovely social spaces include the spacious lounge area, which features big sofas and a comfy armchair and the cosy snug, where a comfy sofa sits next to a huge window that perfectly frames the amazing view. When it comes to entertainment, the barn features super-fast WiFi and a large flat screen TV with Netflix.
When it comes to meal prep, the brand new kitchen has been fully fitted with amazing amenities, making cooking a breeze.
Outside, the barn also has a lot to offer. Dine alfresco on your private patio or enjoy a picnic on the lawn whilst taking in the views. And after dinner, indulge in a relaxing soak in your private hot tub with a glass of something delicious.
When bedtime beckons, the barn’s four bedrooms all offer a perfect night’s sleep. On the first floor there are three super-king size rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms for added privacy. The owners tend to leave two of these arranged as super-king doubles and one as a twin single, though they are flexible. The last two guests are accommodated on the pull-out sofa bed that sits in the snug.
The barn is located on a vineyard and the owners can offer informal wine tastings and tutoring as well as provide wine, sparkling and sparkling rose for you to enjoy on your stay.
When it comes to filling your days, Hereford, Ludlow, Hay-On-Wye and Cheltenham are all within a 45-minute drive, should you wish to visit. However, it’s the marvellous surrounding countryside that we love. Venture out on foot or on bike and explore the rolling hills that surround you. You’re nicely placed to visit the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons).
You’re also situated close to the quaint village of Bodenham, which is home to Bodenham Arboretum. The arboretum has been described as Worcestershire’s Hidden Garden and is an oasis of plantations, pools and avenues beautifully landscaped including over 3,000 species of trees and shrubs.
