Welcome to Cruckbarn, a luxurious holiday cottage set in quiet, secluded woodland, and ideally situated for visiting Ludlow, or walking in Herefordshire, Shropshire and the Welsh hills.
Cruckbarn is a recently converted barn with a traditional feel, there are oak beams, a wood burner, outdoor fire pit and wonderful open plan kitchen/living space, plus of course beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.
Inside you’ll find a mezzanine master bedroom with a king-sized bed, covered with luxurious linen sheets. There’s also a further bedroom with a double bed, and additional single day bed, making Cruckbarn ideal for families up to 5, couples or a small group of friends who want to get away from it all.
Renewable energy heats the building, with under-floor heating and hot water supplied by a ground source heat-pump, while a beautiful Clearview wood-burner can be fed by a plentiful supply of logs from the surrounding woodland.
You’ll find everything you need with two bathrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen and a Bluetooth music system as well as vinyl player for dancing whilst you cook...or whatever you fancy! Or if you’re in the mood to be treated let the owners prepare you some delicious food cooked from local produce and delivered to your door. For the kids a cot, highchair and even an all-terrain pram can be provided.
Cruckbarn is near Ludlow, so you’ll have no shortage of local pubs, restaurants and other places to eat out. You’re also spoilt for choice with both Stokesay Castle and Ludlow Castle nearby, plus a host of tea rooms to retire to for a spot of afternoon tea. From the house there is woodland to roam and plenty of local walks to take from your doorstep. Then, after a day out, why not head back to the house to spend the evenings around the campfire gazing up at the stars above you.

Leave a reviewCruckbarn is amazing! The barn itself is absolutely beautiful (and made all the more extraordinary for having been built by hand). There are lots of lovely touches on arrival and the owner John was incredibly helpful and accommodating. The surrounding area is absolutely stunning. Despite terrible weather the children loved playing in the woods and building camps. The wood burning fire was on all weekend and we had a peaceful and happy couple of days at Cruckbarn. We will definitely be back.
