A stone’s throw from the house Jane Austen lived in when she was in Bath, Camden Lodge is a detached stone lodge-style house, steeped in local history and brimming with contemporary amenities. With an aesthetic which combines comfort with historic decadence, Camden Lodge is a great accommodation option for groups of up to five guests looking to stay in style in one of Bath’s best-known and most celebrated areas.
As you approach the famous Camden Crescent, you won’t be able to miss Camden Lodge, a gatehouse-style detached stone cottage with a walled garden and sandstone walls. On the ground floor, you’ll find the kitchen-cum-dining room, an open plan space with tiled floors and a range of culinary equipment. This is an ideal kitchen for making a quick breakfast before heading out exploring, or taking advantage of the delis, butchers and grocers in the area to cook a fantastic celebratory meal for the whole party in the evening. On the same floor, the sitting room is generally where guests go to relax at the end of the day, taking advantage of the two sofas to recline and chat, or putting on a DVD. This room also boasts a SONOS integrated music system, and one of the sofas pulls out into a double sofa bed. The family-style bathroom is also on this floor, finished in the high-end contemporary tile which characterises the interior décor.
Upstairs are the two bedrooms, a master bedroom with super-king size deep-sprung bed which can be converted into twin singles, and a single bedroom next door. Both beds are made up with fine Percale cotton bedlinen, and comes with feather duvets and pillows.
There is direct access from downstairs out into the private walled garden and patio, with its outdoor dining set up, making it the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or an al fresco dinner at the end of the day.
Architecturally pleasing, culturally vibrant and endlessly sociable, Bath remains a popular destination for couples, friends and families looking for mini breaks and longer stays. Whether your idea of a great trip involves free museums, cutting edge cuisine, days of shopping or live music in brilliant neighbourhood bars, Bath has it all. Camden Lodge is ideally located for exploring the city on foot or using the Bath public transport system. With your proximity to the famous Royal Crescent, you can walk from Bath train station in just twenty minutes.
