A grade II listed thatched property, Bramley Cottage is a romantic bolthole located in the heart of Somerset. With traditional stone wall exteriors, wooden beams and a wood-burning stove, this quaint cottage is the perfect place to retreat from reality. Filled with flowers, the sun-trap courtyard hosts a dining table for two alongside a parasol, perfect for enjoying breakfast in the morning or dinner alfresco.
Operating on a fresh, natural blue and green colour palette, Bramley Cottage is an instant delight. Through the rustic oak front door, guests can find a dual-aspect living and dining room with an inglenook fireplace and a wood-burning stove. Surrounded by wooden beams and stone floors paired with fluffy rugs, this open-plan delight is the centre of the home. The sitting area is furnished with a gorgeous leather sofa and matching armchairs, apt for sinking into after a long day of walking, alongside a 32” flatscreen TV for a cosy film night.
With funky, multi-patterned tiling and teal-coloured cabinets, the kitchen is a fun, sociable area in which to cook up a storm. Equipped with an electric Esse range cooker, a microwave, a dishwasher, a large fridge-freezer and a washer-drier, this space has all the technology for a stress-free stay.
Elsewhere on the ground floor, guests can find the bathroom with a fun, stand-alone sink, forest-green walls, fresh tiling and a rainfall shower. The centre point of the room, the winding staircase, leads upstairs to the chic, French-style bedroom. The bedroom hosts an opulent king size bed, an uber-comfortable deep mattress, fluffy pillows and a 400-thread count cotton bed set, all of which combines to guarantee an uninterrupted night of sleep. Super convenient, the ensuite cloakroom includes a toilet and a hand-wash basin.
Nestled in the heart of Somerset, Bramley Cottage is a true English treasure. With sandy beaches, limestone gorges, wetlands and moors with breathtaking countryside views, the local area has it all. For panoramic hilltop views, visit Dunkery Beacon on Exmoor, Glastonbury Tor or Brean Down, feeding into the Bristol Channel. Hestercombe and Barrington Court form some of the county’s most impressive stately homes and gardens, alongside Margaret Fish’s cottage garden at East Lambrook Manor Gardens.
