Set in the grounds of the elegant and historic Deans Court in Wimborne, Dorset, Apple Cottage is a cosy escape for up to six guests. Situated next to the orchard and within a walled garden, this is quintessential English country living. Despite the history of the main house dating back as far as 705AD, the estate embraces a contemporary lifestyle. It is now run with an ethos that celebrates sustainable living within a heritage environment. You’ll find environmentally friendly cleaning products in the property, and delicious homemade food on offer in the Deans Court Café.
Inside the traditional 18th century cottage, you’ll find a welcoming and relaxing haven, thanks to a recent refurbishment. The vintage furniture has been re-upholstered and the walls painted chalk white to open up the space. The three spacious bedrooms, two doubles and a twin, are beautifully furnished with comfy beds and crisp white bedding. An Inglenook fireplace with a wood burner will keep you cosy in the delightful living room and logs are supplied from the estate woodland. Elegant details, such as the linen blinds in the bedrooms and the sisal carpets add a touch of contemporary luxury to the traditional building.
A beautiful freestanding bathtub awaits in one of the bathrooms and the neutral tones of the decor make this the perfect place to relax after a day exploring. The fully equipped country kitchen is a joy to cook in thanks to the range of modern appliances and the locally produces treats that will be waiting for you on arrival, including freshly baked bread and homemade jams. In the evening, take a drink outside to the terrace and enjoy the stunning views over the Stour Valley.
While there’s plenty to do and see on the estate itself, exciting events, a homestore and a cafe, the cottage is perfectly located for exploring the rest of Dorset. It’s just a few minutes’ walk to Wimborne's town centre with The Tivoli Theatre and a beautiful model town to discover. There are blue flag beaches within easy reach, such as Sandbanks and Bournemouth. The spectacular Jurassic Coast is also nearby and its many treasures are not to be missed.
