If you love a bit of peace and quiet and want to escape to the woods for a weekend then the charming Woodland Retreat Lodge is the spot for you. The lodge has been designed and furnished as an escape for two that offers modern comfort without losing any of its traditional aesthetics.
Guests access the property via a wooden staircase that leads up to the balcony - the perfect space to enjoy an evening drink or to take in the sunshine. This then enters into the open plan living and dining area. In here a comfy sofa and armchair sit in front of the flat screen TV, while there is a small table and chairs at the other end, making an ideal spot for dinner for two. Exposed wooden beams add to the charm while skylight windows allow the light to flood into the space.
There is a separate and well equipped kitchen, which comes complete with an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, and all the pots and pans required for creating culinary delights. In the spacious bedroom is a king size bed, and the room also has an en-suite bathroom with walk in shower.
Woodland Retreat Lodge is in the village of Brundish and is just a few minutes' walk from the nearest pub, The Crown Inn. Brundish is also only a short drive away from a number of picturesque villages and towns; such as Framlington with its bi-weekly markets and array of independent shops. Framlington Castle and its towering walls are also worth a visit, behind which Mary Tudor was proclaimed Queen of England.
If guests are seeking a meal or drink while on their travels then there are a number of great pubs to sample. The Queen in Dennington and The White Horse in Badingham come highly recommended for their home cooked food made from local produce.
For those who want to get out and about by foot or bike there are a number of walking and cycling routes right on the doorstep. Particular favourites include the Suffolk Coast and Heaths, as well as RSPB Minsmere near Dunwich which offers the opportunity to catch a glimpse of some wildlife as well.
