Tucked away in the peaceful countryside of east Suffolk, close to the coast and miles of beautiful heathland, you’ll find Toad Hall Lodges. These five charming timber lodges have been thoughtfully designed and handcrafted to help you feel close to nature while still offering plenty of comfort. Book one lodge for a cosy couple’s escape, well away from the hustle and bustle, or get a group together of up to 10 guests and enjoy a retreat together. Enjoy a long weekend of yoga, cooking classes or flower arranging workshops, or explore Suffolk’s stunning countryside and coast, perfect for hiking, cycling and wildlife spotting.

The five lodges have all been named after elements of nature that you’re likely to find in the surrounding countryside. Pebble, Blossom and Feather are all equipped with sumptuous king size beds, while Willow and Lavender are both set up with twins. This offers plenty of flexibility whether you’re travelling as a couple, with a friend or a larger group. Inside each, you’ll find cosy, relaxing spaces furnished with pieces from Tom Dixon and Margo Shelby and all the beds feature memory foam mattresses and fluffy duvets and pillows to ensure a restful night’s sleep.

The lodges all have their own bathrooms with large powerful showers, a toilet and a heated rail to keep your towels warm and dry. You’ll also find luxury toiletries waiting for you. Pebble’s bathroom is an ensuite, while the others are located less than 50m from their lodges. There’s also a covered outdoor kitchen where you’ll find some shared cooking facilities. Whip up a cooked breakfast using the gas hob and oven or rustle up some dinner on the BBQ with the fire pits lit to keep you warm and enjoy the fantastic views over the fields. Enjoy your meals at the table in the kitchen or use your own private deck in front of your lodge.

You’ll also be able to book additional facilities for your stay at Toad Hall, from use of the wellness and yoga studio to sessions in the sauna and ice bath. There’s some fitness equipment available and a stylish ‘Art of Table Tennis’ ping pong table to use. You can also book yourselves in for experiences such as guided hikes and bike rides in the surrounding countryside, wine tasting around the fire or private yoga classes.

There’s also plenty to do in the surrounding area. Head out on foot to explore the flora and fauna of Hen Reedbeds Nature Reserve and Wolsey Creek Marshes. The delightful coastal town of Southwold is also within walking distance. Pack a picnic and stroll through the countryside to the beach with its colourful beach huts or pick up some fish and chips to enjoy while watching the boats bob around in the harbour. There are other beautiful beaches to visit, including Covehithe and Walberswick or you can hire a bike from Southwold and can venture off down miles of quiet country lanes.
