Wills barn is a wonderful, cosy upside down barn with a fabulous view of The Mendips and would be perfect for a couple seeking a romantic nook in the countryside.
The open plan living area has everything you could need and is very cosy and welcoming. The décor is eclectic with toasty clashing colours from the burnt umber walls to the rich teal sofa, offering a space where you can hide from the world and snuggle up under a blanket together with the log burner to keep your toes warm.
The kitchen area has everything you'll need to cook a long lazy supper to enjoy at the perfect-for-two dining table beneath the original oak beams. Play cards, chat and drink wine long into the night with nothing to disturb you but the stunning view of the countryside through the floor-to-ceiling window.
The lounge area feels like home from home with the big comfortable sofa and blankets where you can have a proper cinema night with the pull-down film projector, or curl up with a good book as the logs crackle in the background. There's a rather fabulous hanging swing chair from which you can stare at the fields as the sun sets.
When it's time for sleep head downstairs where you'll find the bedroom simple and cosy with a big comfy bed and nothing but the sound of nature to lull you off.
The bathroom is particularly cool with distressed coloured bricks surrounding a deep tub with central faucets so two can share. There's even a heated towel rail to keep things fluffy and warm.
In the winter you can enjoy breakfast with the log burner on and in the summer you have a lovely outdoor space with a table and chairs overlooking the stunning Chew Valley and Blagdon Lake. A particular treat is the stone amphitheatre fire pit! Grab some marshmallows, a flask of hot chocolate and some blankets and make a night of it.
There are lots of lovely walks to be enjoyed from your doorstep, and the property is owned by the famous Yeo Valley Farm and has its own restaurant called The Canteen nearby where you can enjoy a good meal. Or if it's a pint you fancy the Queen Adelaide will be happy to provide one. For a pint and some casual dining head to The Seymour Arms. And if you fancy a bit of city life you can pop into Bristol for shopping and some excellent micro breweries.
