These two marvellous shepherd’s huts both overlook the Somerset Levels, situated on a working farm in the small hamlet of Henley between Langport and Street. These two cosy homes are both nestled in their own private slice of the farmer’s field and provide you with your own private garden area at the front where you can really relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle of day to day life.
Both Collie and Shetland View offer charming open-plan living rooms with a smart TV and WiFi for entertainment and a cosy log-burning stove for your comfort. For such a snug space, both huts have a lot packed in; with an intimate dining table for two, a comfy sofa and a quirky kitchen area will provide everything you need to escape to the countryside and have an unforgettable stay. Open up the double doors, sit on the steps with a cup of tea and experience the tranquility of nature all around.
The kitchens in both huts offer a double gas hob, microwave and fridge with a freezer compartment so you’ll be well set up to produce hearty breakfasts and romantic dinners.
There is a comfortable king size double bed in each hut, with Collie’s bed hidden away in a quaint curtained alcove. They also both offer modern shower rooms with an electrically heated towel rail, a wash basin, a shaving socket and a flushing toilet. Fluffy towels and toiletries are provided to create a real home from home.
Outside each hut has a peaceful, private garden offering the perfect place to take in the gorgeous evening sunset whilst relaxing in your wood-fired hot tub with a glass of champagne and watching the miniature Shetland ponies quietly grazing in the paddock. Or why not stargaze while listening to the wildlife that surrounds you? Sun loungers and outdoor dining furniture are also provided.
Both huts welcome you with tea, coffee, sugar and milk as well as other complimentary goodies and a welcome folder will provide you with information about places to visit and explore as well as where to eat out and drink locally. There is a free supply of logs during your stay for the BBQ/fire-pit, wood-fired hot tub and wood burner for those chillier evenings and mornings.
There are many walks to be enjoyed directly from your hut and you can also head over to Langport (less than a five minute drive away) and walk the Parret Trail along the River Parret and enjoy the local shops and restaurants in the town itself.
For a dose of ancient history, head to Glastonbury with its medieval tor and eclectic mix of shops. For the bargain hunters among you, Clarks Village in Street with its designer outlet is a must-see. The beaches of Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-super-Mare are within an easy drive away for a dose of traditional seaside fare!
