Treshnish shepherd’s hut is found on a peaceful farm on the Isle of Mull, a beautiful Inner Hebridean Island off the west coast of Scotland. Tucked in behind an old stone wall in a corner of the field, the shepherd's hut is a wonderful place to slow down and relax, meet the friendly Herdwick sheep and lambs grazing the nearby fields, and take in the sea views. Perfectly combining alfresco living and indoor comforts, guests can cook authentic pizzas on the woodfired oven, enjoy a relaxing soak with a view in the outdoor bath and then retreat to the cosy hut to unwind. You won’t find any WiFi here (although there is 4G mobile signal), so switch off, relax and spend some quality time with a loved one.
Although small, the hut has been cleverly designed and features everything you could need for a wonderful stay. This includes a well-equipped kitchenette with ceramic hobs, fridge, toaster, cookware and crockery, ideal for preparing breakfast or whipping up a light lunch. A comfortable, small double bed awaits when it's time to sleep, and there is an ensuite shower room with a hot shower, flushing toilet and washbasin. There’s also a wardrobe and plenty of storage space for your holiday essentials. A small but efficient woodburning stove keeps the hut warm throughout the year. Outside the hut is a private garden, the best place to take in the sweeping sea and woodland vistas. Here you’ll find the woodfired bath and pizza oven, as well as a table and chairs for outdoor dining. When the sun sets, why not light up the fire pit and toast marshmallows under the stars?
The hut is the perfect base from which to discover the Isle of Mull, and the thoughtful hosts will provide books, maps and information so you can plan your adventures. The island boasts some of the most breathtaking beaches in the UK. Calgary, with its white sand and turquoise waters, is the nearest and very popular, but within a few miles there are several other quieter beaches to explore. There are several fantastic walks right on your doorstep, including the stunning Treshnish Headland walk - discover the illicit whisky cave and spot no less than 16 Hebridean islands as you walk. Whilst exploring you may catch sight of some of the island’s rare wildlife, including eagles, red deer, otters, dolphins, whales and basking sharks!
