These two huts, Hen Cloud and Dane Valley, have been designed for comfort, rest and tranquility and would be perfect for couples wanting to unplug from the fast pace of life and recharge in peaceful, quiet surroundings. Both huts enjoy glorious far reaching views to the Roaches and are nestled in a small field near to the main farmhouse.
These huts are also nicely off the beaten track and sit in the heart of a gorgeous farm with acres of ancient forest all around, with a delightful river nearby. This marvellous setting offers plenty of tranquility as well as some charming walks nearby.
Upon arrival you might like to open a bottle of wine and sit at the little table on the veranda and become part of the patchwork of rural life that is right outside your French doors. Surrounded by working pastureland, you will find yourselves of great interest to the locals - normally calves and lambs in the spring and summer and pheasants and deer in the autumn and winter.
The hosts have deliberately chosen not to equip Hen Cloud with TV meaning this is a space where you can truly retreat and switch off, relax and savour a simpler life in the idyllic Cheshire countryside. Crack open that book you've been meaning to get to, doze on the bed or play cards with your companion. Nothing here is hurried. Turn off the alarm clock, sleep when you are tired and eat when you are hungry.
Inside you'll find superb compact spaces with fully equipped kitchens for preparing feasts and a small four seater benched table which is easily transformed into a very comfortable and sumptuous king size bed at night (unhook the table, pull down the bed, hey presto!). Each hut contains a bathroom with all the amenities that you could wish for in a luxury establishment: a gas powered hot shower, flushing toilet, sink and heated towel rail. All towels are provided.
On chilly evenings you can get the log burner on, snuggle up inside and enjoy the scenery via the full height double glazed French doors. And when the evenings are mild, laze around the fire pit with marshmallows on sticks and gaze up at the stars. You're also surrounded by ancient forests, which you're welcome to explore. These beautiful trees provide plenty of peace and serenity, allowing you to truly know that you're away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
When it comes to the local area you're located within a 20-minute drive from Wincle are the Cheshire towns of Macclesfield and Congleton, the Staffordshire town of Leek, and the Derbyshire town of Buxton.
Leek is a traditional market town well known for its collection of antique shops and it also offers a host of independent shops, cafes and bars and makes for a fun visit. Buxton is one of the UK's leading spa towns and Macclesfield, famed for its historical silk industry, is a bustling community offering a wide range of activities. For more active days in close proximity you'll find two areas offering great water sports facilities. Three miles away in Meerbrook at Tittesworth Watersports centre there are a wide range of sporting activities available - ranging from paddleboarding through to windsurfing and hiring of dinghies. And at Rudyard Lake in Rudyard they offer training courses for those wishing to learn to sail and it also offers a miniature railway and a great walk around the lake.
