Lavender and Bee Shepherd’s Hut is an ideal place for a couple to get away from it all in the comfort of the countryside, allowing guests to enjoy the great outdoors in all its glory in peace.
The hut is situated in a meadow on the border of the Peak District National Park and comes with gorgeous views across the Manifold Valley. In the summer, the soothing scent of lavender and lazy hum of bees give the place an idyllic sense of calm, perfect for relaxation.
You’ll feel well looked after from the moment you arrive, with a pre-heated hot tub and welcome pack ready for you. You’ll also receive a breakfast hamper filled with a delicious array of locally sourced meats, eggs, bread and milk. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available!
Inside the hut, you’ll find a double bed that folds away should you feel like having a bit more space, creating room for a seating and dining area. Straps hold the bedding in place, so you won’t need to worry about remaking your bed should you do this.
Staying warm and cosy won’t be a problem, with plenty of throws, hobs for hot drinks, a heated towel rail and a log burning stove at hand. You’ll receive fuel for this — as well as for the hot tub and fire pit outside — upon arrival. And if you’re feeling like having a quiet time inside, there are plenty of books and board games available, as well as a DAB radio for you to make use of.
The outside space is where the shepherd’s hut really shines, making it a brilliant place for people who love being out in the open air. The covered outdoor kitchen (complete with gas hob and BBQ) and dining area beside the hut make eating alfresco a cinch. Festoon and fairy lights illuminate both this space and the hot tub, meaning you can stay out in comfort long into the night.
Being on the edge of the Peak District means that there are plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventures in the area. Your welcome pack will contain maps showing recommended walking and cycling routes nearby for all abilities. Of particular note are the picturesque stepping stones of Dovedale, across which you can scale Thorpe Cloud for stunning views of the Peak District. Just be sure to bring your walking boots if you plan to give this a go!
There is a diverse range of rock formations, water features and wildlife to take in. And for those who prefer more leisurely pursuits, there’s an abundance of tea rooms and pubs to check out too.
