This 17th century property offers exclusive accommodation with a sublime interior, comfy furnishings, modern appliances, a wellness spa and incredible views out onto the lake.
Waternook sleeps 12 people in six gorgeous suites. It sits within 26 acres of private grounds and has beautiful terraced gardens that offer breathtaking views of the lake and the mountains beyond. The dramatic setting makes for a truly remarkable holiday on the edge of one of Britain’s favourite lakes.
Not only is Waternook sat in a million dollar setting with inspiring views, but the interior is also sleek and elegantly designed with outstanding attention to detail. Guests can make use of the private cinema room; the super-comfy lounge complete with log burning fireplace; the reading room; and the state-of-the-art kitchen with dining terrace. There’s even a spa and wellness sanctuary on the site where you can switch off and zone out before enjoying a glass of bubbly in the lake-view hot tub. The bedrooms are all beautifully designed with luxury hand-made beds and pretty ensuite bathrooms complete with a mixture of powerful showers or decadent free-standing bathtubs.
Adjoining Waternook is The Great Barn. This property sleeps eight people in similarly lavish comfort, with eight deluxe suites with bathrooms. Step inside to discover state-of-the-art tech, a spacious lounge, a stylish mezzanine reading nook and a sleek modern kitchen. The stunning dining terrace offers breathtaking views, perfect for alfresco meals. Music lovers will be in their element, with a Sonos invisible multi-room sound system and KEF in-ceiling speakers filling the space with rich, immersive sound.
Be sure to venture out and explore the rest of the estate, taking in the sights and sounds of the Lake District. But it’s also worth venturing further afield and seeing more of what this incredible part of the country has to offer. The jewel in the British crown, the Lake District has plenty to see and do. Hike the mountains and breathe the air, or gaze down at the picturesque lakes below. Head out on horseback or bike, or simply on foot as you take in all before you. Spread out over 912 square miles, the Lake District National Park is home to some of Britain’s highest peaks, deepest lakes and an amazing array of wildlife. The Howtown pier for the Ullswater Steamers is a 10-minute walk from the property. The trip on the lake provides some of the best mountain views in England.
