This stunning seaside retreat in Anglesey offers big social spaces, incredible views and amazing access to the island's many coastal walking routes.
Tucked away on Anglesey’s northwest coast, Ty Glan y Mor (The House by the Sea), is a charming getaway for 10 that provides some of the finest sea views that North Wales has to offer. With huge windows throughout, you’re constantly connected with your incredible surroundings and grand social spaces set the scene for big group get togethers.
The star of the show is the giant open-plan living space. Here, you’ll find a big dining table at the centre, which can comfortably seat your entire group ensuring you can all dine together in style. Just off the dining space is the super-comfy seating area, where giant sofas sit opposite huge windows, encouraging you to make the most of the view whilst catching up with loved ones. One of these windows is a set of sliding glass doors that open up onto a private patio. In summer, slide the doors open and enjoy a morning coffee or afternoon drink out on the alfresco dining table whilst gazing out to sea.
When it comes to dinner time, the spacious kitchen is perfectly equipped for whipping up a feast. There’s a giant kitchen island where you can perch with a drink as your loved one prepares a delicious dinner. Modern appliances make meal prep a breeze and the kitchen has yet more incredible views out over the Irish sea.
If you fancy a bit of peace and quiet, you can also retire to the cosy sitting room with a log-burning stove, smart TV and yet more beautiful sea views.
When night falls, head to bed in one of the four superb bedrooms, two of which feature king size beds and ensuite bathrooms for added privacy. The third bedroom sleeps two in a double bed, whilst the final room has a pair of twin beds for added flexibility. The family bathroom features a bathtub for indulgent soaks after a day out exploring the area.
After a morning beach stroll, rinse off the sand with the outdoor heated shower, perfect for freshening up. The spacious lawn is ideal for lazy afternoons, complete with a picnic bench where you can sip your morning coffee while taking in the stunning views of Holyhead Bay.
The house is located right by the Anglesey Coastal Path, with easy access to a series of smaller coves and hidden beaches along the north coast, including the beautiful Porth yr Afon, which is right in front of the house. The area is a walker’s paradise, with stunning trails leading to hidden, secluded beaches - many of which can only be reached on foot. For a taste of local history, take a trip to Melyn Llynon (Llynon Mill), one of the last working windmills in Wales, famous for its delicious doughnuts. And for a special meal, the renowned Lobster Pot restaurant is just a short drive away, offering a fantastic dining experience in a scenic setting.
