Nestled in the Brecon Beacons National Park and with stunning views across the Usk Valley, Ty Croeso offers large families and groups of friends the chance to relax surrounded by some beautiful scenery. The house dates back to the 1830s and was once the infirmary to the Victorian workhouse nearby. It’s been thoughtfully restored to maintain the building’s original charm and character while giving it a modern revamp to create a welcoming and relaxed home away from home.
Wake up to the stunning countryside in the mornings and head out for a day of adventures in the national park. You might prefer to relax in the large garden, soaking up the views or sitting back in the hot tub before rustling up a feast for everyone to enjoy together.
Step inside and you’ll find the house is perfect for large groups with plenty of space for socialising whether you prefer to put your feet up in front of the fireplace, a game of pool in the games room or a board game in one of the two living rooms. The kitchen is designed for catering to large groups with a huge range cooker and all the equipment and utensils you could need. Enjoy your meals together in the dining area or take them out to the patio where you’ll find several picnic benches perfectly positioned to make the most of the breathtaking views.
Head upstairs to the first and second floors and you’ll find the nine bedrooms, all with their own ensuite bathrooms. Each bedroom has its own character, from cosy double rooms under the eaves to spacious suites with their own sitting areas and a roll-top bath. They all have comfy beds to ensure a good night’s sleep after a day of exploring and you’ll find fluffy towels and toiletries in the ensuites.
Ty Croeso makes a fantastic base for exploring the natural beauty and history of the Brecon Beacons. Start with a stroll across to Crickhowell which is home to the ruins of a castle and some lovely independent shops and cafes. If you fancy a bit of a challenge, tackle the hike up to the top of Pen y Fan, the highest peak in South Wales and you’ll be rewarded with some stunning views. For a more leisurely way to see the scenery, hire a boat and enjoy a relaxing trip down the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal that passes just 100 metres away from the house.
