Trek to the UK’s most northerly point to explore the unspoilt and tiny hamlet of John O’Groats. Part of the wild Scottish countryside it has pretty white sandy beaches, sparkling clear blue waters, rugged rocky cliffs and dark woods. With a wonderfully desolate feel, you can relax in your own luxury accommodation while watching the spectacle of unspoilt nature unfold.

Making the most of its magnificent setting, the Natural Retreats haven offers a range of luxury accommodation with breath-taking views. Three bedroomed, eco-friendly wooden lodges are dotted along the coast and have spectacular views of the picturesque Orkney Islands. Here, stunning floor-to-ceiling windows bring the outside in, while modern designs create an uncluttered and stylish feel. With an exceptional attention to detail, the lodges have locally-sourced Caithness stone feature walls, designer wooden furniture and private outdoor seating areas.

For further accommodation there is also the beautifully restored 19th century inn with a colourful contemporary extension. Combining traditional features with the vibrancy of a new build, the inn oozes understated luxury and offers charming one, two and four bedroom apartments. While each has its own unique design, the apartments each boast inspiring views over the dramatic Scottish landscape with sleek, designer touches. Here, regal armchairs can be found sitting beside wood-burning stoves, luxury beds can be found beneath traditional vaulted wood ceilings and lights can be found hanging from natural weaved ropes.

With the spectacular views from your luxury accommodation it is almost impossible not to be allured into the array of natural splendours around you. A guided walk can show you the best of the dramatic coastline and wild Dunnet Forest while an exhilarating boat trip can introduce you to some of the exceptional local wildlife. Magnificent orca whales, playful seals and beautiful dolphins have all been spotted in the area along with the wonderful local guillemot and remarkable puffins. You can also hire a bike or head out geocaching to see some of the unique local sights or spend a family day out at the local Castle of Mey.
