Tucked away in a wooded valley in the heart of Devon’s beautiful countryside, these treehouses are relaxing hideaways for couples or families. Each treehouse is named after one of the birds you might spot in the surrounding area, Owl, Pheasant, Buzzard and Woodpecker, and they all have a private deck with a wood-fired hot tub. Both the interiors and exteriors of these treehouses have been designed with the surrounding environment in mind. You’ll find a range of wood finishes used in the structure and the furnishings and relaxing, neutral tones in the fabrics.
On arrival you'll find a welcome hamper packed with treats, some tea/coffee and nibbles, bread, butter and jam, plus a complimentary bottle of wine for you to enjoy on a sunny afternoon or cosy winter evening by the fire.
The treehouses have large, circular open-plan living spaces which get plenty of natural light filtered by the surrounding trees. There are big windows, French doors leading out to the deck and a skylight in the centre of the ceiling creating a bright and airy atmosphere. In this open-plan space, you’ll find a living area with a sofa and armchair in prime position in front of the wood-burner. In the evenings, light a fire and sit back and relax as you enjoy a good film or just take in the view. The underfloor heating makes the space extra cosy.
There’s also a fully-equipped kitchen with everything you need to rustle up the family favourites and a Nespresso machine to get you going in the mornings. There are two bedrooms, one featuring a luxurious king-size double and the other with a triple bunk for the kids. Egyptian cotton bed linen and comfy mattresses set you up for a great night’s sleep and the en-suite bathrooms are equipped with power showers.
The deck outside is the star of the show with everything you need to enjoy sunny afternoons. There’s a barbecue and dining area, a hammock, sun loungers, outdoor chess and table football, and a traditional wood-fired cedar hot tub.
If you can tear yourself away from your cosy hideaway in the woods, the treehouses are perfectly located for exploring Devon. They are set just outside the idyllic village of Dittisham and a ten-minute drive from Dartmouth. Go for long strolls along the River Dart or spend the day in Dartmoor National Park, walking, cycling or even horse riding. There are lots of historic houses to discover, including Agatha Christie’s holiday home, and the iconic Bayard’s Cove and Dartmouth Castle are also well worth a visit.
