Yggdrasil Treehouse is a lovingly created Nordic-style treehouse for two with the beauty of Exmoor National Park on its doorstep. Finished to the highest standards with a hot tub, wood-burning stove and underfloor heating, it offers the chance to get closer to nature in comfort and style.
With its Scandinavian design, fairy lights and peaceful countryside setting, Yggdrasil Treehouse makes an impressive and enchanting sight. The accommodation is crafted from warm-coloured wood and is raised above the ground, with a large balcony to the front.
Enter through the full height glass doors and you’ll find a warm and welcoming open plan space. Dark cosy colours, soft sheepskins, Finnish Kelo lamps and decorative nods to Viking culture, evoke luxurious Scandinavian style.
A sumptuous king-size bed is crafted from 100 year old oak posts and previous guests have commented on how very comfortable it is. You’ll also find a dining table for two and comfy leather chairs placed around a wood-burning stove. The whole space benefits from light and views through the full height windows and glass doors.
Cooks are well catered for with a fully-equipped kitchen that offers up a fridge with ice compartment, oven and an induction hob. Then there's also a BBQ on the outdoor patio area. Additional seating is provided here for al fresco meals under the stars.
Outside, you'll find the balcony with a seating area and a hammock strung up under the treehouse, where you can relax with a view. A wet room, crafted from lovely porcelain tiles, provides a decadent rainfall copper shower and flushing toilet. A few steps takes you to the hot tub, magically surrounded by a tall log wall draped with fairy lights - a perfect place to stargaze with a glass of something bubbly.
Guests staying at the treehouse can also spend time in the amazing Gin Lounge. Here you can practice your mixology skills with your loved one, making an array of delicious drinks to enjoy in a fabulous woodland setting.
Yggdrasil is situated close to the pretty, historical village of Bampton, near Exmoor National Park. There are many wonderful walks right from the doorstep including a walk into Bampton with its fab local shops, restaurants and cafes offering delicious Devon cream teas. Some great pubs can be found nearby including the Anchor Inn, and when it comes to dining, The Swan is a fab gastropub in Bampton that comes highly recommended. For water sports enthusiasts, the nearby Wimbleball Lake is a must for kayaking and sailing. Nearby Dunster Castle and Exmoor Gin Distillery are well worth a visit.

We stayed 3 nights as a get away from the kids. It was wonderful. Everything went perfect. The Treehouse was better than expected. Clean and Private. Definitely worth the money.

The treehouse really was a unique experience! It’s a beautiful, peaceful and tranquil place. The views are amazing! We didn’t want to leave. The hosts have really put their hearts in to it. So much attention to detail and they made sure the treehouse was perfect for our arrival. We will definitely return.
