Booked the Byre for a much needed weekend catching up with old friends. We were all a bit tired and in need of a bit of luxury and peace and that is exactly what we got. The Byre is thoughtfully and beautifully renovated; cosy and comfy, as well as being an interesting historic building renovation. It has all you need with a well equipped kitchen etc. but also has some lovely additional touches like games, books and a welcome basket of treats. The location is the perfect mix of being easy to get to and within reach of some great local amenities but also gives the feeling of being away from it all; with lovely views of the Long Man and downs. On that note, a walk over the downs to Alfreston is well worth it for the pubs, food options and interesting shops (the twofold bonus of feeling like you've done a healthy activity with the promise of excellent pubs at the end!) As well as all the above the owners were so friendly and welcoming and able to answer all our questions and checked in on us via text to make sure it was all going well. Will be booking again in future!
