You'll find The Meadows tucked away down a pretty back street in the heart of the historic town of Dornoch on the North East coast of Scotland. Originally built in 1886 from local sandstone, this charming house has recently been renovated to create luxurious holiday accommodation for friends and families looking to explore the Highlands or tackle some of the challenging local golf courses. Inside, you'll find a delightful blend of traditional Scottish charm and modern comfort, inviting you to put your feet up after a round at the famous Royal Dornoch Golf Club or a day of exploring the stunning nearby beaches and countryside.
Step inside and make your way through to the bright and spacious open-plan kitchen and dining area where you'll find everything you need to prepare and enjoy delicious meals during your stay. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances and cookware you could need, including a dishwasher to make the clearing up a breeze. There's also a breakfast bar creating a bit of extra space to prepare dinner or for keeping the cook company. The dining area features a spacious farmhouse table with plenty of room for everyone to gather for meals and plan the next day's activities together. To one side of the space, two comfy armchairs are positioned in front of big windows, the perfect spot to curl up with a book on a sunny afternoon.
After dinner, move through to the cosy sitting room where you can relax in front of the wood-burning stove, playing board games or watching films on the Smart TV. It's a warm and welcoming space with an exposed sandstone wall and big comfy sofas to sink into. There are plenty of books on the shelves, along with some OS maps for planning your next walk along the coast.
There are four bedrooms, all named after local Lochs and each with its own distinctive feature wallpaper. You'll find 'Migdale' on the ground floor with a shower room next door and a super-king size bed that can be split into twin singles if you prefer. Head upstairs to the main bedroom, 'Fleet' which has a stylish ensuite bathroom with a nickel freestanding bath, perfect for a long soak after a round of golf. The two remaining bedrooms, 'Buidhe' and 'Lannsaidh', are also upstairs with king size beds, ensuite bathrooms and with fluffy towels, robes and Temple Spa toiletries waiting for you.
Outside, there's a pretty garden with a sandstone patio area, complete with outdoor furniture and a BBQ. It's a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the sunshine and fresh coastal air with a coffee in the morning or to gather with family and friends to cook dinner on the BBQ in the evening. There's also a lockable shed with plenty of space for eight sets of golf clubs.
The house is located on a quiet road but is just a short stroll from the centre of Dornoch where there's a cathedral and castle to explore, along with independent shops and restaurants. It's also just a few hundred metres away from the first tee of Royal Dornoch's championship golf course, regularly voted as one of the best in the world. This spot on the North-East coast of Scotland has its own dry microclimate, making it perfect for a whole range of outdoor activities, from long coastal walks and cycling amongst the hills to fishing and bird-watching around the lochs.
